Well, it could mean “Reverand,” though that’s usually abbreviated “Rev.” It could mean “Rex,” though you usually know when someone is a king. Then of course, like everyone else pointed out, it could just be a first initial. For an extensive list of possibilities, see “The Life of Brian,” at the releasing (weweesin) of the prisoners scene.
