It is a series of events that occur at different moments in time. Maths is used to find a relationship of these events with other events and then try to predict events given these other events or possibilities/probabilities of events. Time series attempts to find a relationship between the other events and event we are trying to predict. It also uses the relationship of these other event with each other. Lots of complex maths goes on in the background. Finally, we end up with a rubbish number and end up rejecting the hypothesis.
