Team Water Cooler: what should I do tomorrow? I worked today, but am not working tomorrow and don’t have any plans. Should I go to the beach? Wonder the city? Go take a book and a stealthy held 6 pack and sit in Central Park?
Go go go. Weather.com says it should be an amazing 79 and partly sunny.
And lunch would have been clutch, however I’m out of town at the moment for work and heading back to my old stomping grounds for the holiday weekend.
Some Ideas:
FiDi - Take a walk around the NYSE. Very pretty area with nice architecture. Don’t forget to get a picture riding the bull.
Bike around Central Park. Bikes are cheap to rent and you’ll see a ton of scenary, if you get my drift.
ChinaTown/Little Italy - Fun touristy ish.
Go to Top of the Rock at sundown. This is way better than the Empire State Building.
Hop aboard one of those cheesy bus tours. I did for the Christmas tour last year, they are fun.
Battery Park, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty. Get here early to avoid the stupid long lines.
After the Top of the Rock, hop aboard a Harbor Booze Cruise. You may need to look on Groupon/Google to find one. Fun stuff.
Can’t go wrong little cubby. I’d suggest wearing comfortable shoes and walking around as much as possible. Get the app HOPSTOP so you can work the subway. Cabs are expensive and take forever to get anywhere.
Take the Seastreak ferry (www.seastreak.com) to Gunnison Beach, the n&de beach. On weekdays there’s usually a decent assortment of good looking chicks who enjoy spending time in the buff while the pervy dudes are at work. On the weekends is when you get much more of the beached whale variety of n&dity.
Take the D down to Brighton Beach and go to Nathan’s. Hit up the rest of the boardwalk. Then go back to downtown Brooklyn for some cheesecake at Junior’s.
I’d just chill in Central Park and walk around midtown. NYC is a cool place and the coolest place of all is Manhattan, right in the heart of the jungle. Don’t waste your time going to the other boroughs. Coney Island/beaches are a terrible idea.
This. Was actually there just last night, buddy of mine spilled his beer and the bouncer/server (who of course is some huge irishman) looks him up and down, throws a towel at him, and says “clean up your mess jackass”. He was obviously just kidding, but it pretty much sums up the experience
