What have some of you done with old schweser materials? I have a bunch of sets of materials for all 3 levels as well as some hand me downs from co-workers that are maybe 4-5 years old. Has anyone had any luck selling these online or have you guys just tossed them?
You might be able to sell them for $10-$20, but I wouldnt expect big money
I’ve had interns ask about good places to start studying, and these materials are good as a sort of workbook for concepts that you may want to cover with them.
I had pleasure burning them.
Schwessernotes sell really well if you put them up for sale immediately after you receive your passing results. It seems that what you have done (and most others do too) is sit on your notes for a couple years. One year later they have lost most of their value. Your best course of action at this point is to make a bonfire of them.
I keep a stack of mine as frame support under the middle beam of the bed for the extra saucy HCB’s.
i use the cfa paper to make $100 bills…its better than the stuff i was getting from mexico
If I had legit Schweser things, sell them on ebay. That’s what I did with my Becker CPA materials. Got a few hundred bucks for something my company paid for.
I share it with a few folks from AF who contact me for materials. I take the shipping charges from them and give them my old materials along with my notes…
I had the e-book version of them.
I dont smoke, i dont do drugs, i dont drink.
if i pass L3 today, i’ll print out the whole material and smoke them for 18 months.
CFAI material. will brint them out, brew them, age them for 18 months, then drink them.
I keep it. Its good memory just look at it and think, man those times were hard.
^ It’s worth the look during Memorial weekend. Remember the times you were stuck inside while all your buddies were at a BBQ party?
Where do people sell them? Id be more than willing to sell my level 3 2014 schweser books…very lightly used!
ebay and craigslist
I’ve always thought (it’s kind of suggested from many comments on this forum) that selling, even lending the books is a breach of copyright rules.
You are not even allowed to quote sth from these books, are you? Those are the questions ‘removed by admin’ I guess.
Do I totally misunderstand this?
Or is this whole thread something high level ironic?
I used to keep mine stacked under my desk for potential reference (I actually did look at them a few times), but then my window leaked and they got all wet and moldy so I threw them out.
I don’t see how re-selling or lending them would violate copyright rules. It is like selling or lending any other book.
You can quote things from the books. You just can’t discuss what was on or not on the exams.
But what are the questions ‘removed by admin’ then?
If you print out one page from CFAI curriculum (I sometimes do to look it on paper) you have a thick warning in the header of the page how it is for personal use only, etc…)
I made such a fuss in destroying the Level I mock exams which I had printed out for this June, shredded them in tiny pieces so noone can find it, put the puzzle together and reuse them.
Well, anyhow I would never get rid of my books, although if I will have 6 or 7 sets of L II material (because I’m not studying just making comments on the forum again) I will have quite a room full of books.
