What's wrong with Eastman Kodak?

I would have thought they would not be affected by this crazy crisis.

Yeah what’s going with Betamax too? Why is their stock down so much from the 1970’s?

How about whats right?

Who?

I don’t think so. You’re probably thinking of Polariod, which is a different story. EK has revampled itself a long time ago and they do make all kinds of digital cameras and services. Besides, the question is why is the drop coinciding with the crisis?

Yeah I don’t get it. Why do stocks going down when the economy goes down?

yeah really. do we even need to discuss this. look at any company with negative earnings and any debt right now and see how well they’re doing. if there’s a good chance we’re going to lose GE, there’s great chance we’re going to lose Kodak. its really not even a hard sell. unless they change momentum entirely and become profitable in a bear market where their earnings are getting worse, they will likely have to restructure some debt into equity or go belly up; too many competitors in this market anyway and nobody buying.

Betamax was actually technically superior.

yea, I’m investing in eight-tracks now

Bill Miller continues to hold onto this disaster. You may now ask, “what’s his current thesis?” A: It trades at net cash. He claims he will sell if they cut the dividend (a little late there Bill). Just b/c the value of the shares you bought are proportionally equal to the cash on the B/S, doesn’t mean the cash will be there forever. “Trading at net cash” has to be one of the worst justifications for holding onto a terrible company.

It’s not called the Wheel, it’s called the Carousel.

You’re right. It helps to look at net working capital changes, which is damn hard at the moment.
