I was wondering, what is the general finance-type haircut and how often do you cut your hair? My style is the economica all the hair to the side. I call it the economical because ever since i started cutting it this way, i go get a haircut every month and a half.
Something handsome, of course…
my haircut is almost exactly like this
Shaved on the sides and back. Cut short on top. It’s good for 5-6 weeks.
I’m considering the “reverse mullet”…something like this. Thoughts, anyone? Could be good for casual Fridays.
Here’s a recommended haircut for the especially ambitious folks here – proof that you can do anything if you want it badly enough…
Shape up form my local Harlem Barber.
I get a 1A or (1.25) all around. It’s maintenance free and versatile, fits my needs really well.
Haven’t changed my haircut is 20 years. #2 clippers on the side and back with sideburns down to my tragus. What’s left of the top get’s layered in with scissors to about the equivalent of #3 clippers and combed back with a dollop of gel.
#3 around, medium on top, sits to the left
I keep saying I’m gonna change to a slightly long but business haircut, but in the end I always get the boring standard office dude haircut.
i want the scott disick look…
Wish I had the ability to rock this:
Short. I don’t know what numbers she uses.
A more interesting question is what do you use to shave? Are you using one of those ridiculous orange and blue plastic Gillette razors with the four or five blades where each blade costs ~$4? I switched over to a safety razor four years ago. The blades are razor sharp unlike the cartridges and in quantity a dime each.
I use this which is badass. http://www.westcoastshaving.com/Feather-All-Stainless-Safety-Razor_p_635.html
And an old Gillette from the 1950s which is badass as well.
People in NYC should check out this place:
100% sure he wasn’t in that movie.
I’m not sure you can use cost to justify the $179 non-electric razor, although blades do add up, so I guess it balances out. Does look nice though. I only use electric trimmers, haven’t actually shaved my face completely smooth in since I interviewed for this job 3 years ago.
If you are using one cartridge per week that comes out to 52*4 = 208
Two per month = 24 * 4=96
You have higher costs up front with a safety razor but then very low long term costs since you can get 100 blades for $10. It pays for itself quickly and long term you save thousands.
No one says you have to get the Feather which is what I bought. It is solid stainless steel.
I had this but sold it. It is badass as well. http://www.westcoastshaving.com/Merkur-34C-Heavy-Duty-Safety-Razor_p_31.html
Remember doing a case study on the original Sensor razor when I was in b-school. They were so dependent on the refills that the company would have gone bankrupt if users used each cartridge an average of 12 times instead of the recommended 10 times.
I went electric several years ago (Braun 5000 Series) and have never looked back.
dovo razors are nice too - expensive at first but pay off in the long run http://www.gentlemansgadgets.com/the-finest-quality-razors-of-solingen-by-dovo/
