I am done almost 80 % of the FRA book along with the EOC questions.I i have 2 readings left which i plan to finish by mid October followed by FSA Questions (also watching schwiser videos for each reading finding very helpful) in Sch-wiser Q bank 2010 to reinforce the concepts in my brain. In all i want to be done with Accounting and Equity in this format by the end of 2010 so that 50% of the course approx is out of the way.Do you guys think that is appropriate way to be going with the prep is it too fast/slow …please advise or leave your targets you have/want to achieve by the end of the year. GL in your studies.
I wana finish 12 study sessions by Dec 2010. For me it works to go over and over again. I wana atleast give myself 2 months for practice exams… let’s see how it goes… Coz things are not always fair in love and CFA…
Hey I plan on starting with Equity towards the end of October… I work full-time but only 40-45 hours a week so my goal is to read an hour or two here and there, with a “goal” of spending one day on the weekend of a full study day… I tend to enjoy my weekends quite a bit so it’s going to be hard to actually focus and turn down going out so often I hear Equity is very important/difficult so I want to do an initial reading in this section…then my plan is go over FSA (accounting) soon after… I’ve been exposed to most of the material already, but I want to stay focuses and treat it as though it’s brand new… and more importantly, try to memorize/understand the formulas!! I plan on putting together a sheet with all the formulas someday and tacking it near my desk at work… I figure even if I glance at it here and there during the day, it can’t hurt! Alternative investments and derivatives are sections I want to read over after FSA…I find them tricky. Quantitative methods is going to be a great time lol… I want to read over that section, but really I’ve already covered this section extensively in all my stats and econometrics courses I’ve taken so I probably should focus more on the weak areas… My plan is to save Ethics for the last… I did this for level I and found it very useful…I spent the entire day before the exam reading Ethics so come exam day, it was all fresh and hence I found that section to be really easy…not sure how level II ethics is…some successful level II friends I have told me specifically “soft dollars” is a tough subject
i’d like to be standing next to a hot girl in one hand with champagne in the other
lol @ cfa curse …once your an analyst im sure all hot girls will want to stand with you instead the other way around
Good for you guys getting an early start. I’m a Band 8 retaker and do not plan on cracking the books until Jan 1.
@ Chuckrox8 I guess that works for you because you already been through the whole process, exposed to the material etc etc
good luck MFIN i like your plan…
yea… i’m a retaker as well. I just started studying for the GMAT, which I intend on taking beginning of December. I’ll start studying a few weeks after. I’m still familiar with most of the material, so I’m not too concerned with the time.
Plan to start studying in January , I am a second time test taker. CFAcurse , let us know how you do in the gmat , I hope to do what you are doing next year hopefully I’ll be studying for level 3 then.
