Hello all, i just passed level1, and moved from Chicago to Shanghai for work. I plan to take the level 2 test next June, which test centre i should choose? Chicago or Shanghai? My friend told me in China’s testing centre-it is very crowded. Is that easy to change testing centre later on? Many thanks!
If you are in Shanghai at that time, I’d choose Shanghai. Changing test centres should be relatively easy from what I’ve heard.
Hello, I changed test centres very easily for the 2011 exam. A candidate is able to change the exam location with a phone call (or perhaps also through the site) up to three weeks before the exam. Within that final three week period, I believe its do-able but a little harder.
@smartpants. Sorry for the off topic post. I would love to work in shanghai and I am curious if your employer has any openings. Please email me at skyport8 at gmail. Thanks!
I would feel better taking it at home (chicago for you) I took level II at my university in the hall where I had most my finals. I feel like I had an unfair advantage over most people over the world…! I was so relaxed, I tested in that room over 100 times before… Unless by June you feel very comfortable with the enviroment and people in china, I would fly back to take it. I see it making a difference.
I’d register for Shanghai and then if you don’t feel comfortable taking it there, then change it. The test spots in the big Asian cities tend to fill up faster than the US ones from what I remember seeing a few months ago. I had to change my test location in April and there were probably 4-5 Asian cities that were already full (and no US cities were on that list) and CFA wasn’t accepting requests to change to those cities.
