Which folk musics do you like hearing?

Ok I’m a sucker for catchy folk musics. I find that nothing captures different cultures more than folk tunes. In my case it comes in phases. Depending on my state of mind, I can listen weeks long to celtic, arabic, gipsy, jewish, east european (these latter 3 share many common traits), soviet marches, etc. Currently my favourite is klezmer (ashkenazi jewish music). What do you like ? And if possible leave the political rubbish out of this. cheers.

kurdish music is my favorite.

if you can classify jimi hendrix as gypsy music, i’d say him. maybe some neil young, too.

I have a double disk of new recordings of old traditional Chinese songs, instrumental. Pretty cool, they have a slightly different sense of melody, probably using a different scale than the western one. I’d like to learn it but don’t know who would know how to teach it.
