I think ‘equivalent work experience’ can sub for bachelors - don’t know if you need like an extra 5 of qualifying work or what, but there is a substitute (just don’t know the ‘formula’ for it).

When registering for Level I, 4 years of work experience can be a substitute for a degree, but you need to have a degree to obtain the CFA charter.

Again, no. Registering for L1 is irrelevant, and you can do it in college. L2GOOG? “To earn a CFA charter, you must have four years of qualified investment work experience, become a member of CFA Institute, pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct on an annual basis, apply for membership to a local CFA member society, and complete the CFA Program.” http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprogram/Pages/index.aspx
