Who feels confident?

yeah sorry, i didnt meant to get offended and you are absolutely right. i am a good test taker and went to a top private university with a BS in finance and also have the CFP designation. I have about 7 years of industry experience (no MBA though, you got me there), and I still think this test is a beast. You gotta admit though, to say “the material is not hard” is pretty cocky. It may not be hard to learn, but the sheer volume in itself requires a certain number of study hours. I know a few people likely smarter than you who still had a hard time on this exam. Anyways, that doesnt really matter so sorry to sound off to you before; I been at it all week and am on edge. Good luck with your studies. I will definitely be looking for your post on results day. Mine will likely NOT be a pass. Sub, your calmness and mother jokes comfort me in my time of need.

cfaboston is long for sublimity?

No worries man, I dont mean to come off as cocky. That being said, the bulk of the material is straightforward to me, like Corporate Finance, Equity Investments, PE/LBO valuations, Fixed Income,Ethics. (worked in investment banking for a couple years) I pretty confident I can nail those subjects 85%+, but if they start testing obsure sub-sections in those areas then I will probably bomb it. Like last year, I think people were saying that had BOP calcs, which I would of bombed. So I am banking on the fact that there won’t be to many outliers in the subject areas and will get questions like FCFF, PE valuations, Residual income, DDM, etc.

Thanks for the kind words, sublimity. Good luck, let’s get this stupid thing over with!

There is no stopping to the success for a person who has the will to do it. There is story about a farmer whose son was driving a tractor. And it rolled over and the son was under the thing. Trapped. The farmer ran and with super human power threw the thing to the other side. Days later he tried and tried but could not lift that thing again. What happened in those few minutes when he was able to muster the strength is called faith and belief which makes all things possible. I know this is not a new age site. But it works. That said, it depends. I know people with an IQ of 145 and Phd in Finance from INSEAD, saying the test is no joke and they dont plan to take it and some other with half that success taking it and passing in a short time. I guess its a case on case basis. I am running back to studies. Best of luck everyone!

faith + belief << intelligence + hard work + passion

I started in 2008 and so I’ve put in a lot of work. I feel pretty good, but we’ll see come exam day.

I started really around February. I hope I pass

yeah, similar for me, CAIA L1 and CAIA L2 ran interference with my study plans

how did you find the CAIA program in terms of knowledge gained?

pretty decent, i would recommend it i’m very happy i did it, even though i won’t be using CAIA nor the CFA charter to get my first job anyways since i have no work experience in finance cost-wise, whatever, it’s still less than half a semester (or just the fees) at a private university

Right on - it’s always good to gain knowledge . Were the exams pretty tough/easy?

CAIA Level 1 was not too bad IF you finished CFA Level 1, otherwise it could have been tough. CAIA Level 2 was maybe 1.5x to 2.0x as hard as CAIA Level 1. CAIA Level 2 is equivalent to maybe 2/3 as hard and 1/3 as labor intensive as CFA Level 2.

I feel pretty confident, done over 2500 questions in Q bank and consistently getting 80%+ on quizzes and sample exams. Taking mock on Wed !
