No I don’t it’s ever been over 3.6%.

how would you practically bet on this spread tightening in the future? short ED futures and go long tbills? dont have much familiarity here thanks

That would be the opposite bet. Maybe you shouldn’t do this.

If 3 month Libor is at 4.5 and 3 month T-Bills at 0.5/0.6 (the current prices more or less), wouldn’t farney’s trade work if Libor went to 3.5 and T-Bills to 1 (ie. 2.5 spread)?

thats the idea, but i just had the buy/short backwards buy ED, yield drops, price increase short tbill, yield rises, price drops i believe is what Joey meant. prob should have taken 2 seconds to think before i asked the ?

So the TED spread is greater than it was in 1987 or for LMTC? Thats nut. So basically we’re starting to talk about the great depression as a benchmark for success? Thats messed. Willy

Another new high - looks like another ‘bloody’ Friday . . . 01:00 Value 4.23 Change 0.000 % Change 0.001 High 4.23 Low 4.23 Open 4.23

what is a TED spread?

3 month Libor minus 3 month T-Bill It is more or less an indicator of credit risk - looks like it is still increasing which means default risk is increasing as well. . . who knew it could go this high

Today Everything Disintegrates

Nice. Except I hate gallows humor.

Fair enough: Tomorrow Everything Disintegrates.
