Who's Going to LevelUp Bootcamp?

Anybody going in the next few weeks? I’ll be in Boston.

I’ve read the reviews, sounds like Marc does an excellent job. Any first had reviews?

I know someone went to Dubai Bootcamp.

He advised that it was awsome and definitely of added value.

In brief: Recommended.

Not I.

I’ll be at NYC next week.

I’ll be in Boston too. Hopefully it will worth the money.

I started a thread on the topic that has now fallen to the second page. I’m going to the Omaha bootcamp. Really looking forward to it and hoping that it both helps me get some of the topics better and propels me to an even more focused final month before the exam.

Please report back with your experience when you get done with it and let us know exactly how it better prepared you. I failed last year Band 8 and had a weeklong Schweser review course in Dallas that didn’t get me over the hump. Would love for this to be better and different.

To be honest, I have my doubts. I remember him from level II in those Schweser classes. As I recall, he was one of those “boring” instructors and not sure why all of sudden he became a rock star in Level III teaching. 4 days for $1200 is pretty expensive. I guess we’ll see how it goes.

Why isn’t Peter Olinto doing this??

As far as I know, Peter’s never taught Level III.

I’d agree with this…had the L2 videos and got the L3 videos. I really don’t know what the big fuss is about him, I find him also relatively boring to listen to and hardly as insightful as everyone seems to go on about.

Maybe he is different in person, that’s the only reason I could think of.

I’ll see this week. Will try to post my review. From what I’ve read he’s very different than the L2 videos where he had to stick to Schweser form versus his own style. Just hope its incrementally helpful and not a waste of time.

Too bad, Peter you are missing out the opportunity to make big bucks! He’s stuck with Wiley who couldn’t even deliver their products on time.

I took the bootcamp last year in NYC. It was very helpful, very insightful, and gave a good strategy for how to attack the last month of study…

…and I passed on the first try, so I would highly recommend it.

Bumping for NYC reviews. Would love to hear what would be the best way to prepare prior to going in for the review as well.

Another bump

I think you’ll find it well worth it. If I end up passing, it’s because Marc made the difference in organizing my thoughts and strategy for the final push.

In NYC as well.

Just came back from the Boston review.

Marc did an awesome job in organizing the vast amount of materials and connecting the dots between different topics. Very insightful and helpful. Two thumbs up!

He’s actually very different in person. Far more interesting than he was in those Schewser vedios. Those 4 days went by fast!

Will be NYC this weekend. Good to hear positive feedback from Boston review.

KSTHANE - to respond to your question - finished readings except for Ethics, GIPS and AI, started with few tests - AM, PM. I’m looking to get more tricks/tips and review of the material in that short period. Hoping IPS and essay workshops do value addition.

People from Boston review - what else specifically you found to be useful? Are any Marc’s materials useful given we’ll have 30 days or so left after that.

Oh, ha ha. I thought NYC was this last weekend and Boston was coming up. I might have too high of hopes for this review course. I am sort of looking for a magic bullet that likely doesn’t exist. I keep scoring in the 60-70% range on the multiple choice mock exams from prior years and on the Schweser multiple choice mocks. No different than my experience last year in taking mock exams when I failed with a band 8. I do feel better prepared this year than last at this same point in time but I still make the same types of mistakes, even if I have reviewed the material a bunch of times.

I’m kind of in same boat, second attempt. Still quite rusty on tests. Definitely wanted myself to be much ahead in the game this time, didn’t happen. Can’t expect that magic bullet from bootcamp.

That said not going to leave any stone unturned - mostly focus on testing, feedback/review and testing. Lets see.
