This has to be the thread of the year so far. hr at lazard must def think band 9 is the 90th percentile of passers.

I’m 25, that was actually my first post in a few years probably, spurred by how hilarious it is that you’re putting that on your resume. In all seriousness, you see the backlash here…there is zero benefit to putting that. And as for the people who said maybe bring it up in the interview, don’t do that either unless it got brought up by the interviewer. Yes there’s no shame in failing this exam, but there are going to be many college students competing with you with maybe the same background who took L1 and passed. You can talk in the interview about how you’ve studied the CFA curriculum, and that you are a candidate (if you’ve signed up again), but there is ZERO benefit to putting that on your resume. It shows a lack of judgment, and honestly makes you look stupid that you would include a failure on your resume. Not trying to attack you, but it’s the truth. And, 1. I didn’t research your old threads, someone else had already posted that. 2. The mock thread someone posted was very funny.
Troll? First, “models and bottles” lifestyle of AF members, he must be kidding Second, he violates Ethics by putting CFA LI on his resume without mentioning the word “fail”, and then mockingly puts that he didn’t study Ethics Third, he says “> I shudder to think how old some of the posters in this thread are”, as if he really thinks that majority of people who take CFA are over 30, while at least on AF, the majority is below 25, or at least around that age When I read the OP, I thought that ppl who work for CFAI and check the website for possible violations, might sometimes want to mess with us a bit. Too beautiful to be true
For those who want to put the failure band on their resume: It really doesn’t matter whether you put band 1 or band 10, as nobody can check it. So why not to put “band 10 failure”? Still, “failure” should not be omitted, otherwise it’s misrepresentation. Hahaha
this cannot be real
He said he went to a top 5 school. Top 5 school in England since you are British? That would be equivalent to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, etc and you failed level I?

K, last post before heading out today. A: “I’m a not a good test taker” B: “Oh, you mean you’re stupid? Oh, you struggle with that part when we find out what you actually know? Uh huh, I can totally relate because I’m a brilliant painter, minus my god awful brush strokes” I’m really excellent with particle physics…too bad I’m such a bad test taker. Haha, gotta love Dan Tosh.

It’s not about the exam, it’s about a serious lack of judgment putting that you failed the exam on a resume, and that’s what makes it funny. It’s like putting SAT: 850 or “Failed Series 7 exam” or “Didn’t make cut on sports team” and then trying to spin it in a good way.
