^ That guy has made the same point I have made; that over the last 25yrs what we have seen is the rise of postmodernism, and the left brought that (Foucault, Derrida, universities, etc), but now complain because the right use it! That’s the problem with PM, it can not be controlled. Once you unleash “everything is subjective” into society, your barely-held-together band of primates go ape shit (hence why we had the enlightenment). And so Trump, Hillary, Google, Breitbart, NYT can all just write their own realities.
Where it leads, is where it led pre-enlightenment; dark ages, warring cultists, that’s America’s future. 
…also yeah, you could go all the way back to America’s beginning and find other drivers.
There’s always been a big following to conspiracy theories in all societies. As mentioned earlier they give people comfort is being “in the know” allowing them to think they’re smarter than everyone else.
Their theories can also be somewhat clever and have enough nuggets of truth related to them that they get a sense of fulfillment in that they “figured it out” when all the others idiots just went about their daily lives in the dark.
Difference now is that with the internet these people are all connected and it’s like an echo chamber where they all reinforce their ideas to one another.
I think this is a reason I enjoyed pro investing. There is a clear scoreboard and a participant in the debate is unambiguously correct or incorrect over time (obviously luck is huge with limited sample).
Worldviews or casts of reality are also ex-post proven correct or incorrect, but it takes a very long time and most people will have either moved on or convinced themselves of another theory eventually.

learn to read the meta data. slow priming to disclosure has picked up in earnest. reason may be nefarious, but we won’t let them control the narrative. full disclosure is the only outcome.
there is now no denying that one of two long held conspiracy theories has to be correct: either ETIs exist or the government is using it as a distraction from something they don’t want you paying attention to (look up project bluebeam).
the truth from my perspective is both are true but the Bluebeam attempt will be unsuccessful. They no longer have control over the narrative.
