Hello chicks and dudes,
I know many of you were wondering about the 11th Hour Review by Wiley (aka Elan).
- Different guy than the one who did Level 2
- They are videos
- The videos are good, very good. I like them because the guy looks a little funny and his voice doesn’t bore me. And I really wanna F*** Pass!
- He really takes the time to explain things in simple easy to understand terms, and he ties in a lot of things with real life scenarios.
- Simple things that I thought I knew well, I was able to strengthen my knowledge by filling in little holes I had (didn’t even know I had)
- Also if you remember that awesome free 90 page formula sheet back in level 2 from Elan? well they have it for level 3 (supposidly it’s going to be released Friday). Though the customer service lady told me it would come out Monday of last week!
- It’s only like 4 hours of video and a few problems and all the formulas.
- If work pays for it, mine as well get it.
Good Luck everyone
I think the instructor is very clear spoken and generally does a good job going through his answers and logic, and gives some basic guidance on how to answer some of the questions.
However, I find the material to be spotty, and more like a very brief outline of some of the testable topics. Certain areas he will begin to discuss, but then he moves on and cuts through the topics very rapidly, spending little to no time on many of them. There are entire areas of the curiculum that are simply left out (e.g. nothing at all on equities, ethics or GIPS.)
I read great reviews of the 11th hour guide for level 2, so I was expecting something much more broad and helpful than what I received. Also, they just finally released the formula sheet yesterday, which should have been included over a week ago.
Overall, if you need all the help you can get and you have money to burn, then maybe this series is worthwhile. Personally, I feel like I did not get a great value for the $130 or so. I think given the breadth of material presented, this video series should have been offered for at least half of what they are charging.
I also purchased the GoStudy $99 set of materials and I have so far found that to be much more worthwhile and a significantly better investment.
