Wiley Formula Sheet

I bought the Wiley Formula Sheet a while back and then stuffed it in a drawer since it’s 92 pages long. 92 pages? Ridiculous.

But, as soon as I revise a topic and move on to the next one, I forget everything that I just covered. So today I started working through the formula sheet and it’s good. Really good. There’s not explanatory text in it like in the 11th Hour Guide or brief “you need to know this” pointers like in Secret Sauce but it’s definitely worth $29 if you need to cram formulas. + it’s downloadable so you have instant access.

I’m feeling better now that I’m going through it. I can learn 92 pages of formulas in 3 weeks, right?

Thought the formula sheet is free though? I should check if they did any updates to it though.

Thanks for the reminder.

I also think it’s pretty good. I use it as reference and copied some of the key “cram” formulas (like that implied return rate of the H-Model - UGH!) onto 6-8 “cram” sheets that I’m using now. I’m sure we can both do it in the remaining 2.5 weeks

Hmmm. Why cram the implied rate of return of the H-model when in actual fact you know the H-model itself? To me, I feel it is a waste of memory space, considering such space could be used for some other unique formulas.

I would rather suggest you simply work out a strategy of making the implied rate of return the subject of the H-model formula using elementary algrebra right there in the exam hall.

Utter waste of time.

If you’re asked the implied rate of return, try answer b) and see if it gets you the given price. If it does, you’re done. If it doesn’t, you’re still done.

You’re right of course S2000magician. Same with the implied discount rate of the DDM. More memory space for other formulas.

I think you mean try the middle value in the choices, if it’s lower than the given price, then use the lower discount rate.

I do indeed.

But, as the choices are always given in the order smallest-to-largest, the middle choice will be answer b), as I wrote.

Ah, that’s news to me.

I guess that I’ve answered somewhere around 9,000 questions through Qbanks, CFAI EOC, Mocks, and actual exam (between L1 & L2), and I’ve never noticed the answers are always listed in ascending order from A to C. Unbelievable…

I don’t know about practice exams, but they are on the real exam.

^ On some 3rd party questions they are not listed in order and it drives me nuts.

Which statement is least likely correct?

  1. Statement 1

  2. Statement 3

  3. Statement 2

I was talking about numerical answers.

I agree that the order you show is stupid.

If I purchase do they email you the sheet or do I have to wait for it to arrive in mail… Getting deperate, as clock is ticking, tick, tock

You can download the sheet from the internet. It’s 92 pages long.

Cool, thanks lammy, I went to order but wanted to make sure I could download first, didn’t want to be camped next to the letter box waiting… So much to absorb - pretty sure if I don’t sleep from now until after the exam I will be fine
