Will there be an age threshold that beyond which I-Bank is not a good option?

My classmates and I are having this debate: He thinks after age 35, I-Bank is not a good option because for somebody has significant work experience, working from associate level is going to be rough. Older people should consider Hedge Fund because there is a high probability to perform well in hedge fund. I think it is all right to start I-bank career in 30s. As long as you can get good experience there and it looks good on your resume. What do you think?

I think early 30’s is fine too …although after age 35 a lot of other factors come in to play such as can you handle the hours ? work / family life balance ?
