Windsor Review

He is soley responsible for me passing L1 & 2 because I recieved >70 on accounting due to his classes. He’s actually the best teacher I have ever had in any setting. I don’t work for them or anything so this is completely unbiased, but I can assure you those two guys don’t read much at all during class. Its all instruction and teaching you how to think about things differently and in the way the CFA phrases questions, and then they work problems and point out lots of traps. Good stuff.

Harris doesn’t teach Dallas for L3 It’s Lefebrve, Filbeck, and Wiley.

Don’t know Lefebrve, but Filbeck and Wiley are both good, imo.

Wiley is a magician… he some how managed to keep me interested in an entire morning session of ethics

That’s cause he spent half the morning telling us that he cheats on his kids’ math homework! Kind of ironic that the guy teaching you ethics bought the answer key to his kids’ math textbook.

All you superstars taking a in-class review is freaking me out. I have never done this, but think it may be necessary for me at this level (but not an option).

Apparently wiley was really boring for the other levels . I like the fact that we did questions instead going through the mundane ethics slides . I don’t know about you guys , but as I look through the seminar slide books I’m realising that i actually did retain stuff . I was afraid I wd’nt retain much .

I can’t believe you guys liked Wiley! WTF, that was like Ethics Level 1. I thought the rest of the seminar was worth the money, Filbeck is especially good. I didn’t do as well as I would have liked on the exam at the end of the week. Still have a lot of work ahead of me! Anyone else bummed by their exam result?

That’s because the Ethics material is pretty much the same as it was in LI. I wished they had only spent 1 session there and gave Mitch another session…I felt they crammed him with all the lower weight topics to plow through in a day. I’ll echo Rudeboi about retaining more than I thought. I’m going through and doing flash cards now, LOS by LOS and finding I remember a lot of it…of course I’m only through 5, but hopeful.

I have been to Dallas for the last 2 years (l 1 & 2) and will be heading sunday. Marc Lefebvre is kick a$$ at portfolio. I take his weekly review in omaha as well as his graduate classes at Creighton University. It is well worth the $800.

BTW, smokin_hot…give me some indication of where you were in the room…there wasn’t that many ladies and even fewer who would use a handle like “smokin’hot”.

mpnoonan, where are you staying? did they send you the book ahead of time, or do you pick it up there?

There were lots of cute girls in that room. How was your result on the practice exam? I felt like I did well on the IPS but hadn’t retained as many of the calcs as I would have liked to. I am reviewing calcs now, reading secret sauce one time and will hopefully do another practice exam this evening. I was the one who brought the baby to Windsor.

I didn’t stay and take the exam…went to the casino instead as my brain was fried. I did win $100, so that was good. Ah, baby mama…I was the one who had a son about his age, so you know who I am too.

And yes, you’re allowed to use that name

Lots of cute girls …ok now ur just being really really nice. I took the test and was one of the few people that actually sat through the whole thing . I didnt grade myself but if I were to guestimate I’d come in b/w 40 and 50 mainly because I bombed the IPS . I screwed up the return objective and the risk tolerance . I can’t seem to get the timelines for the return objective right . In 1 year , in the current year , 1 year from now …Goddamn make up ur mind already !! .

Glad to know I’m not the only one who didn’t ace the practice exam. Hi Sponge Bob, yes I totally know who you are! Man, I really want to pass this thing. Here’s to 3 weeks of red bull, panic attacks, and mastering the curriculum!

Agree, Mitch was dealt a very heavy load in terms of material to cover and very limited time. Could have done without Ethics completely. I will be reviewing the SSs Mitch covered over the weekend and will see how much I have retained. In general, agree with others here that I have retained more than I thought.

Ya, smokin’ I’ll confirm that too, I’m glad I sold you on the redbull, I told you it’s a step up on coffee. My exam score (minus three q’s that I just crossed off and moved on) might have been a pass. I don’t like “might”! There may have been a few cute girls but the ratio was about 7:1, the bartender at the end of week shaker told me the only time she’s seen more guys in one room was @ last year’s windsor week windup.

Ok, smokin’hot, I’ve been wondering what you look like…were you the tall, thin girl with the dark hair that sat in the middle (the one the guys were drooling over??)
