Winsorized Mean and workout Period???

Can any one explain these FSA terms : Winsorized Mean Workout Period (of course not gym related)

Winsorized mean - a mean calculated by replacing some of the extreme observations with less extreme observations. Maybe more robust than regular mean and maybe more efficient. Named after necktie knot. workout period - A piece of rhetoric used about some fictional period during which a security is going to move to the place you think it is going to. E.g., you buy stock @ 50, stock drops to 40, client calls all pi$$ed off, you say “Well, there will be a workout period ahead but then the stock will meet or even exceed our expectations”.

I think you should leave out the stuff about the winsorized mean though.
