World Financial Group

Just got a call from a friend (lawyer), saying they’re (WFG) looking to recruit and would I be interested (she’s heard from a friend-of-friend). They’re apparently looking for “25-35 year olds with good interpersonal skills” and I said it sounds like PriMerica. Sure enough, turns out this place IS previously PriMerica. I feel dirty. I’ve had to watch BNN for an hour to feel better.

What is worse Ameriprise or Primerica? Always be wary of companies that start with “Ameri” or end in “erica.”

world financial group does sound pretty shady. Primerica is indeed shady. One of the best pyramid schemes of them all.

get you in on some cutco

whats primerica all about?

sales! sales! sales! retail insurance (and investments?)

Apparently it’s just your run-of-the-mill Amway-type pyramid scheme, without actual products you may derive value from.

Back when i was a 403b peddler, they were the company that tried to hire public school teachers to sell their investment products to other teachers. The teachers I was going after would be like, “Well, that’s not what Jan (the Primerica advisor/teacher in the next class over) said!” Then Jan would walk over and not have the slightest idea what they were investing in or what a 403b or TSA really was. Over and over again, the Primerica agents I ran into were implementing unsuitable variable annuities with long surrender periods and high surrender charges and commissions out the yin yang. Not only that, but they try to get them to get other teachers to join and build up teams (hence the pyramid). I am not sure about their other investment practices. All I know is what I saw with my own eyes. They may be more legit and ethical now.

I remember during fall of my sophomore year in college, I received a call from someone working at World Financial Group with an opportunity to meet for a job interview. I asked them where their office was located, and they told me to meet them at a restaurant in a local shopping area. I thought to myself, “Uh…next!!!”

Imagine the lost sales from the patrons of Joe’s Crab Shack. Your fishbowl could have generated millions. . . big mistake on your part bro.

my roommate went for a primerica interview bc he thought it was for a finance job when the guy said he was with a division of citigroup, but didn’t disclose the name.

I got a call from a modeling agency a couple months ago to come in for an interview. The day before the meeting I googled them and found out they were one of those places that charge you 500 bones to take headshots and never send you on any gigs. I skipped the interview and they never called to ask where I was, guess they probably found another 10 suckers to sucker at the same time.

It’s late… i’m tired… and created a habit of skimming paragraphs… this is what i read from above. Definitely not a good sign for me in taking level 2. > I got a call from a modeling agency a couple > months ago to come in for an interview. The day > before the meeting I googled them and found out > they were one of those places that pay you 500 > bones to give head and send you on any > pig. One day i got a voicemail from some guy from Prudential. he was looking for bright guys to open a new office in chicago. i never replied.

hey guys sorry for the tangent but what happened to that canadian dude who moved to vancouver and was looking for a job? anybody knows? i cant recall his name.

I got cold called from Allstate on selling their garbage. . . The girl seemed shocked when I politely said “not interested.” Where the hell do they get our names from!?

I went for an interview and was asked to set up an office for a mid sized brokerage house. The problem was it was in a small town I had just left a few years ago. I did not want to go back. Somebody justy cold called me from a big bank brokerage house asking to buy my business but I said I was a little young to be selling. I get people calling me several times a week about their new and improved products and are taken a back when I won’t meet there reps for coffee
