1 - Luanda, Angola

The capital of Angola tops the list largely because of housing. A luxury three-bedroom house rents for an estimated $15,000 per month, over $1,500 more than the next costliest location, Hong Kong. And it’s cheaper to buy your blue jeans virtually anywhere else; Mercer calculates the price at over 204. All figures in this slide show are in US.

2 - Moscow, Russia

Moscow comes in at No. 2 because housing is the third most expensive in the top 10 - $4,600 monthly rental for an apartment or $8,000 for a house - and several everyday items top the survey: $9.95 for an international newspaper, $8.29 for a cup of coffee and $7.59 for a liter of milk.

Rental market in Moscow is still very undeveloped from what I’ve heard. Although if $4,600 is for a 2 bedroom, it’s still cheaper than prime Manhattan.

I am sceptical about the milk price in the aricle.
