What if somebody circle the option “Average”, rather than “Above-average”???
They lose a point.
Not to second guess the all powerful S2000, but wouldnt the correct response be “they fail to gain a point”? 
But, was it so evidenced to circle the “above average” with 100% surity ???
That’s certainly a valid way to look at it as well.
I prefer the view that all of the points are mine, to keep or to lose.
