you should all read this.

Are we allowed to write on the exam booklet?

you probably should delete old posts right?

You can write on the exam booklet while in the exam. However, DONT take the booklet out of the exam.

there is no option to delete the posts…think about it after you are done with the exam.

Ya I just spent 5 minutes trying to delete a post and couldn’t!

too bad…i feel like posting the replies thepiratebay sends to people who request info!

I browsed the pages, here are some of the more tricky ones: *) Possession of Study Materials: All candidates were advised that possession of any information related to the Candidate Body of Knowledge was prohibited AT THE TEST CENTER. *) Use of Scratch Paper: Candidates may not use scratch paper during the exam. Scratch paper includes writing paper, the exam ticket, calculator keystroke card, desk top, or ANY OTHER SURFACE. BUT: Recording Answers and Scratch Paper Policy: You ARE PERMITTED TO DO SCRATCH WORK IN THE EXAM BOOK on question pages, blank pages, or (for Level III only) the extra pages in the back of the essay book. *) Leaving Exam Center/Building: All candidates were advised that they MAY NOT EXIT and re-enter the exam center/building/area during the administration of the exam. From “Important Exam Rules to Remember”: “You must not … leave the testing room during the final 30 minutes of the exams, except for BRIEF toilet breaks; exit and re-enter the designated testing area during the exams, EXCEPT during the lunch break;” Also: “8:30 a.m. Candidates MUST be seated”. *) Talking during Exam: All candidates were advised that they MAY NOT SPEAK to anyone other than a proctor during the exam. If someone you know starts to greet you or talk to you *inside* the exam room, you can’t respond. (It’s not worth risking the exam for, anybody showing up inside the exam room should know you’re not allowed to talk or greet each other while inside!) *) Glancing: Prohibited to be GIVING THE APPEARANCE of looking at other candidates’ exams/answer sheets during the exam. *) Blogging: Following the exam, a Level II candidate, {name withheld here}, POSTED ON HIS BLOG regarding his experience at the CFA exam and mentioned topics covered and material not covered on the exam. Sources: http://www.cfainstitute.org/ethics/conduct/Pages/candidate_sanctions.aspx http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprogram/resources/takingexams/Pages/admission_ticket_agreement.aspx http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprogram/resources/policies/Pages/index.aspx

‘Giving the appearance of looking’ - that’s just absurd to me… Basically, no matter what you do, it’s your word against the proctor’s, and the proctor is always right. You did not look but if to him/her you appeared to be looking , -> void exam. That’s just BS. I sit for the exam in Tokyo, and from what I’ve seen them overreact over every little single thing during other exams I’ve taken, I’m really not looking forward to Sunday…

I think i should probably carry a spray for sprained neck… @andreea: Relax  … Just put things in perspective. Even if 80-90000 people sat for an exam last year and about 100-150 odd got punished, you have less than 1 in 800 chance of being punished…Don’t let this affect your performance.

thanks

WOW. Interesting stuff. Now people who didn’t know about AF are also going to flock towards this place. This link should be stickied!

I love the part on scratch paper, a guy writes on the exam ticket and BOOM, 1-2 years ban from taking the cfa. though to cfai’s defense, it says do not write on the exam ticket.

Leaving the exam center? When they say administration, are they referring to 9-12 and 2-5 or the entire day? What if one were to go grab lunch nearby? If not, no one is allowed to leave the exam room during the exam so how would they be leaving the test center?
