z-table

Will the z-table given…already forgot how to use z-table :frowning:

  • 5% VAR is 1.65 standard deviations below the mean.

  • 1% VAR is 2.33 standard deviations below the mean.

Probably not for the standard numbers: 68%, 90%, 95%, 99%.

Two tails:

68%: 1σ

90%: 1.64σ or 1.65** σ**?

95%: 1.959σ 99%: 2.576σ I will remember this… Ah… VAR is one tailed…

90% = 1.645

95% = 1.96

99% = 2.33

99% = 2.33? It’s one tailed number?

For a one-tailed test, the values are:

df

0.100

0.050

0.025

0.010

0.005

1.282

1.645

1.96

2.326

2.576

Tried to paste a table, didn’t work. I think it’s worth learning the 1-tailed and 2-tailed results for 90%,95% and 99%.

Only remembering 0.01 and 0.05 at - 1.65 and - 2.33 respectively. Yeah that’s the left tail. Why people are even mentioning the 2 Tails is beyond me.
