Favorite Music While Studying

What’s your favorite music to listen to while studying. I’m trying to put together a playlist for my ipod. I’ve heard fast Indian raga sitar music is good.

My favorites - dark side of the moon by pink floyd (especially money), and Brandenburg Concerto #6.

A clear and personalized study plan is here! Schweser's upgraded content and redesigned study platform are exactly what you need to pass the Level I exam. Save 10% when you preorder a Premium Package for a limited time.

Shuffle on the music library…..or pandora.

I personally like Kazem al-Sahir - one of Iraq’s most famous pop-stars.

Debby Boone’s “You Light Up My Life” on endless repeat.

Solo piano has been great for me for many years of studying… try it!

Any particular solo pianist or works that you recommend?

And that pandora is awesome.

Look up the Gregorian monks…

i cant seem to study with music with lyrics.
i like trance and classical music.

Tiesto, Oakenfold, Trance/Dance/etc.

"Ask me how to clean the Shewee"

I don’t listen to music when studying. In fact, my roommate pretends to be a proctor and I have a tape recording of girls running in high heels coupled with continuous coughing and muffled sneezes intermixed with random sigh’s to prepare me for the crowded New York testing location.

so your room mate checks your ID every ten minutes?

You must be kidding. Not only does he check every 10 minutes but he will randomly give me questionable looks and sideways glances whenever I glance up from my studying, obviously.

Slayer - South of Heaven,

Just perfect, I just get in there and ‘slay’ the study sessions

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue

Dont even listen to jazz normally but the absenece of lyrics is great for studying

I’m listening to the Verve Jazz Masters Catalog (~40 hours of music), as I’m not normally into this kind of music, it instantly brings the mood for learning.

Oh, and if manage to study the required 250 hours, listening for these tracks for 6 times ought to make me more classy :)

I always put in Charles Mingus, either Blues & Roots or Mingus Ah Um, when I needed to squeeze that one more hour of studying late at night.

1. Morning - Depends but mostly Amrin Van Buuren “State of Trance” episodes.
2. Evening - Celtic stuff like Clannad and Celtic Twilight albums.
3. Difficult topics - Dark Tranquillity “Fiction” or “Character” albums.

None. Can’t study to music.
