So, what are your guy’s opinion on smith machine squats and partial squats
Smith Machine squats = lol I was getting mean mugged by some roider last week while doing my squats. I was doing 260, parallell x 10 and he was doing 275, maybe going 45 degrees on a smith machine. I love having an awesome power/weight ratio. I actually got complimented on it the other day Partial squats can help you break through a plateau. Like when I was stuck at 225 I loaded up the bar with 315 a few times and just lifted the bar off the pegs and went not even 30 degrees to get a feel for the weight.
^— agreed. Smith Machine is a joke - free weights all the way, if you can have proper form of course.
Squats are probably one of hardest for forms, even after doing it for half a year, I’m still struggling with it. The problem is just as you are use to the form, the increased weight throws it out of whack again.
I like smith better, but my max is 150. I am smaller than laGrandFinale, and would like like to lose 10 pounds.
You sound like my ex-wife.
150 is not that little, I haven’t seen many girls doing that
smith machine 150lbs squat is very little
ok, so imagine how much free weight I can lift, like 50lbs or something. I haven’t tried though. I like smith better because I think it’s better for knees
