Analyst

why should he pay $60k when PhDs are throwing themselves at him for $40k all in?

I wonder if I’m one of those bright people he has in mind…

frank, do you want to be a glorified data entry “analyst”? because that’s what this job sounds like.

billwest, we’ve thrown jabs at each other and it is what it is. But we’ve also communicated and I think you know my situation as well as anybody here. The short answer is, NO. Glorified Data Analyst would suck, but we have to pay our dues. it’ll be lovely if i can start at a job that is perfectly aligned with my skills, but I’m not in a position to change the rules here. I don’t have the experience to call out a “good” job as you know, so what are my options then? My answer, do my best and things might fall into place. I kinda feel like Paul “The Punisher” Williams.

do you want to be a glorified data entry “analyst”? I would …like frank said we all have to pay our dues and in this market even that is so hard to come by …

you’ll have to get very lucky paying your dues or earning your stripes that way.

hey i didnt say it was gonna be easy …

frank, have you tried the jobs on workopolis?

Will, what’s your firm’s AUM?

if I’m not mistaken and if my research is right it should be around $2 billion

Not bad…under 10 employees?

It’s a bit more than a glorified data entry clerk…lol. I mean you do get to participate in some neat stuff. I was just amazed as to why someone with a Masters Degree in Eco would want to do this kind of work. Like if I just earned my M.Eco., or M.Sc., in Eco, I’d probably look for work as a government or bank economist, right? Willy

I now fully understand why Aaron Pryor never got the respect he clamored for…

Turkish…bout 20. Willy

Correct. Sort of, we are technically lead PM on two of the portfolios. But you’re absolutely right that for the Strategics it’s all 3rd party. Willy

How much value do you add?
