PLEASE STOP POSTING QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS from the Practice tests. Allow others to do them.

CP, my problem is w/the answer, not the question. they are not unclear for me. My intention is not to test people. and it’s one month to exam. lots of people already finished practice exam vol1 and all sample exams of CFAi . and this is a public BBS. If you not like my style, you can hide my post.

Many of us have not taken the practice exams. Please use a disclaimer in the title if you must post questions.

how about this- post in the subject PRACTICE TEST 3 Q1 or something so if someone who hasn’t taken the test doesn’t want to spoil it, then fine. can we agree on that? ok good. carry on.

I just went to grab my butter popcorns and the fight was already over, duh!

I have full respect to you and this BBS from L1. you are warm-heart and smart people. I’ve seen several posts from practice exam before mine. why always point out me? what’s wrong w/my post??? anyway, I will change my subject and we’d better focus on the studying now. CPK, have you read my posts about the all-current/temporal gain/loss (fast way)? If we can find some fast way to calculate them correctly, it will save lots of time and improve correct rate in exam. i.e. it will save someone’s ass. happy studying.

FYI: Dumbledore dies on page 546.

Dumbledore was declared g*y, so who cares. I heard Lord Voldemort is coming for the exam too? Scary

Wait, they added a section on Harry Potter? Freaking CFA Institute! It does feel a bit like studying for O.W.L.s…

Dam this SS19 is killing me. Does anyone know/explain the below question. Q: How does the minstry know when 16-year-olds do magic at home? A. The Trace B. Sneakoscopes C. House Elves

Those problems on the translation gain / loss and CTA adjustment posted by you are not relevant for this year’s exam. They can only be solved with the “Holding effect” and “Flow effect” methodology that was testable and in the LOS last year. Not any more this year.

A

SS19 is hidden under QBank too. After you launch the SchweserPro and for the time the flashscreen remains, you have to type APARECIUM quick enough for the SS19 to appear under Test Management.

This type of problem without an income statement provided is not covered under the current syllabus / LOS. Do look up the text and see if there is a single problem of the type you have posted without an appropriate Income statement provided. I do not have issues sharing, and I do tell whatever I know - you can see other posts to determine that. This is strictly a vestige from last year’s portion - where Holding effect and Flow effect was present - and due to Sheer LAZINESS - SCHWESER *_)*()*_)** did not remove the questions.

cpk123 I found them in last year notes. the generic formula under both all-current and temporal method: translation gain/loss= change in exposure (LC)*(current rate-ave. rate) + BEG exposure(LC)*(END rate-BEG rate) Don’t forget many L2 retaker sitting around you and me. By knowing this formula, they will get right answer much faster than us. this is a very competitive exam. I always find faster way than normal way to ensure pass.

I love that annexguy is not reading cpk’s replies… it’s like talking to a wall.

Dude, it is last year’s material and not covered this year. Can we just stop discussing this now?

But he says it correct - It’s the survival of the fittest here. Top ~40% move to round 3 in the tournament and the 60% failing are no fools because they are already with MBA’s/MSFs/CAs/CPAs/CFPs and ofcourse L1s. Plus a premium to retakers maybe a 5 basis point advantage.
