Business school at U. Michigan

I can’t believe how long Independence’s winning streak went. It was something like 109 games straight. The current team was in elementary school the last time that team lost.

Dude, last year Chris leak started at UF and won an NC, two starting WR’s at UGA were Independence grads with the 2nd string QB (who also started a couple of games and won a few games at QB) also coming from Independence. I’m sure plenty of other players from the school played D-I but those are the only guys I can think of off the top of my head. All those guys were on the same HS team! Talk about a football factory. Want another ridiculous team? Try to catch a Booker T. Washington (from Miami) game. They’re on ESPN sometimes. I watched them manhandle Summerville (SC) who is also a sick team. Held one of the best HS O’s out there to 3 points…

As a current UF student I am well aware of how ridiculous the talent is out of Independence. Its just always a surprise when a streak that long finally gets broken. But yea, its gotta suck to head up recruiting in North Carolina and lose all those players.

On second thought, does Oregon have a business school? To paraphrase kkent bwahahahahshshhhhahahahahhahhaha Edit: Scene: Monday Morning Lloyd Carr’s Office. Phone rings. Carr: Hello? Caller: Good Morning, Lloyd. This is Bill. Carr: Oh, Good Morning Mr.Martin. Martin: Lloyd, I’ll get right to the point. You know why I’m calling. Carr: Yes sir. You wanted to express your support for me like you did after last year’s 7-5 season and humiliating loss in the Alamo Bowl with more talent on the team than the Detroit Lions? Martin: Actually, no Lloyd. That wasn’t why I was calling. Carr: Oh? Martin: You’re so f%^king fired Lloyd. You suck. Be out of the office by 3 PM. I’m getting Dexter Manley to take over the team.

You win some, you lose some. Unfortunately, the latter is becoming more more frequent…

next week should be interesting. If they loose to this year’s Notre Dame team, things could get hilariously ugly. Maybe the UM students will burn couches in the streets and riot like the cross state Michigan State students of years past.

Nope next weekend, Michigan is going to ring Notre Dames clock.

I’m not talking smack again about college football–I hate football. And I hate all of you! :’(

Michigan fans must be so embarrassed. The balance of power in college football has surely shifted. kkent, I imagine you’re such a geek.

no one seriously thought VT could hang with LSU did they? I wonder what will have higher tv ratings: Michigan vs Notre Dame Mixed Doubles Semi final at US Open CSPAN Today in Washington America’s Test Kitchen Equipment Review: Garlic Presses

I hope Michigan gets its act together as it is embarrassing to the B10 and a clear indication of the overall weakness of football in the conference. While I, unfortunately, expect this type of performance from MSU, Michigan should not be performing this way this year. I think the players are sending a signal…“Martin, drive this Carr of the cliff.” While I think Carr should go, I hope he stays through the end of the season. He did when UM a national NC, but his records in bowl games and tOSU might not make this possible.

This is my fifth season following VT football and I’ve seen some ugly losses, but I was telling a guy before the game that I’ve never EVER seen us get blown out–even with an incompetent offense, our defense has always been so strong that getting blown out just hasn’t happened. It’s clear to me that LSU’s recruiting has just been phenominal. VT only recruits speed–speed speed speed–we’re easily as fast as any team in the nation, except for LSU which seemed like an NFL team. Obscene. At least we have a new freshman phenom QB.

I am definitely scared of LSU now. Joey, I have to disagree. I think the Notre Dame Michigan game is going to be pretty close. Michigan’s defense is a joke, and I think the combination of Chad not starting for Michigan and Claussen starting for ND does not bode well for UM. Its been two games now that Michigan has not delivered with Mike Hart running very well. He is basically carrying the team on his back and its just not working. By the way, I was extremely impressed by Dennis Dixon. His touch on those 20+ yard balls was just incredible. That fake statue of liberty play was pretty sweet too.

Michigan’s D may be a joke, but Notre Dame’s offense is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s going to be an interesting game. No clue who’ll win it, but if I HAD to bet, I’d say Michigan.

I wasn’t saying its a sure thing Notre Dame will win. Its going to be an ugly game and I just think its going to be close. Its got car crash written all over it. You want to look away but you can’t.

BTW Nib, Independence lost last week the streak stopped at 100 games… So did anyone watch UM last weekend? It was amazing to watch Oregon DB’s lay out Michigan OL’s on the first interception return. Is Mike Hart the only football player on that team? Long is clearly not a leader on their OL, and don’t even get me started on Henne… But hey, what can I say, UGA lost to South Carolina this weekend, so all I have left to do is hate on other teams…

Don’t forget about USF beating Auburn in overtime. Thanks for the correction about Independence.
