Reuters never screws up!

Will the Certified Financial Advisor designation help me get into a top 20 MBA?

I have seen official bios of some CFAs with statements like “so-and-so has an MBA from Harvard. He is also a CFA.” Yea crazy $hit.

I saw an article on Bloomberg that described the CFA charter as the “ultimate credential on Wall Street”. People who write these articles are journalists. Often they have no finance experience; if you were an investment banker, why would you take a 75% pay cut and become a writer?

“The ultimate credential on Wall Street.” I guess they mean it literally… it’s the last credential you get before getting laid off on Wall Street.

^I disagree. When I applied at UPhoenix, I feel the interviwers was not as impressed as I had anticipated. It was my essay that tied CFA to my future career goal that helped me get in. Think about the overall application package. Good luck.

I chose burnt sienna. I felt it was a little more masculine then the sky blue I was originally planning on using.

Are you kiddin me? Crayons are almost universally frowned upon by top tier b-schools. You must master the usage of pencils in order to survive the fierce, cutting-throat culture of UPhoenix.

The CDFA is a hot designation right now: https://www.institutedfa.com/

My work sent out a newsletter to our employees and in it they congratulated me on passing level two of the Certified Financial Advisors program… its great to be appreciated.

One of my co-worker, upon hearing that I passed level 2, said to me “you know, you should really consider doing an MBA instead. It’s more recognized.”

Certified Financial Accountant http://www.socfa.org/why.html “I confirm that I have read and will comply with the Society Code of Ethics. I further state that I will use the professional salutatory style or designation Certified Financial Accountant or designation letters CFA; only while I remain a member in good standing of the Society of Certified Financial Accountants.”

Posting in an epic thread.

APOL has shown a decent return in the last 10 years. The business is good in my eyes. Definitetly above average. Crap on the U of Pheonix as much as you want, but this business made some people decent money.

No argument there, but they are selling a product that I/many consider inferior. People pay high prices for it though, which allows it high margins which may equate to a strong stock to own.
