my worst job was working for a landscaping company at $8 an hour. One project we did involved putting in flower beds and a sprinkler system on the black slate back patio of a country club. So i spent two weeks in 100 degree heat (on black slate) using a jackhammer to break up the slate…all the while looking at the nice refreshing pool that was right next to where I was working.

Worked three jobs at once to pay off a few gambling debts that went bad while I was in school. One of them was at a garbage processing plant, pretty dirty environment, but good money. Pretty sure it won’t get worse than this in this thread

Cashier at dry cleaners when I was 16. Beside the separation of dirty clothes, making sure nothing’s in pockets and stapling tags to them - after 3 months of lifting clean clothes for return, I developed a toned RIGHT arm while my left arm was obviously from another body. …and the bags were always longer than me so I always slipped and fell over the bags. Rain or shine.
…can’t forget working as a cocktail waitress at a place that required me to wear short skirts and knee high socks. Ridiculous.
I also write “PICK-UP” > when I’m taking out food, because I don’t believe > in giving tips to people whose service was simply > putting my order in a bag. I’m happy to tip > people who serve well and come check on me while > I’m dinning there. how about tipping cab drivers? isnt the fare going to them anyways why do they need a tip too? its like tipping a bus driver no one does it.

LOL…looks like I opened this thread at the perfect time. Thanks for the entertainment guys. Been building and manipulating data in pivot tables for the last four hours and was just about ready to flip out.
Btw I am amazed at the diversity of this group on AF – from multimillionaires to people entering data all day. I think its to CFAI credit that people of all backgrounds are taking the exams.

Working a drill press at a factory for 40 hrs / week over a summer in high school sucked pretty bad. Most repetitive job ever. Then there was the car wash, also in high school. You can learn a lot from working with a bunch of 30 something transients missing teeth.
