Delhi gang rape and item number culture

yes,i never blamed the british for our lack of innovation.we stopped innovating because we were so far ahead of the game and then western navies turned up and everything changed overnight.

even after the start of the industrial revolution there was enough wealth and literate people to kick start things if we wanted to.the dismantling of the economy by the british denied us that chance.the further exploitation that lasted for another 200 years is what ‘left us in the dust’ not the stagnation of indain society prior.

the only positive legacy that the britsh left india is democracy and even then nehru did far more and should be given the most credit for democracy surviving in india

Move on dude! Let bygones be bygones!

I think western scholars give themselves too much credit for the enlightenment. As to why India didn’t have the industrial revolution, that’s a legitimate question, and I don’t think we have an answer to that yet. However, keep in mind, during the 12-18th century period most of India is under foreign (Turkish or Mughal) rule. It is a long, bloody period, however, we see stability under the Mughals, India did economically well up till about 1600s. So from the 1550s to 1800s. We see a giant gap, and I am not knowledgeable enough to determine why an IR did not occur. Any insit into Mughal decline would be necessary (Aurangzeb?).

Before this thread I really only knew a few things about India:

  1. They produce about 40,000 movies a year and all of them end with dancing

  2. They’re the largest consumer of gold (thanks btw)

  3. Curry doesn’t actually exist in India

Now I can add a fourth:

  1. It’s the Brits fault Indian men assault women

Mughals were the dominant force in the subcontinent up until circa 1700. The uprising of Marathas, starting from Shivaji, was the single biggest factor responsible for their decline

I’m a little skeptical. I know nationalist historians credit Marathas with Mughal decline, but I believe Mughal mismanagement and weakness was the primary cause. The Mughal emperors after Aurangzeb were pretty weak, apart from Bahadur Shah I.

really?that’s what you got?you must be a retarded shithead then

who said that and where?

of course man.the thread just got sidetracked is all.

it’s a different table now, different players and the stakes have never been higher.we’ve been dealt a good hand in great position.

if we don’t make this happen it’s on no one but us.

In a thread that’s essentially about some Indian males having anger issues and being socially retarded, you replied appropriately.

ok.

you didn’t answer the question though.who said that and where?

I wasn’t being serious. Hence your social ineptitude.

I don’t generally make serious comments on curry and rape in the same post.

ah ok…shit…my bad…

too fried now,slipped me by

Be it indian men raping indian women, aids in africa, brah killing brah in the hood, sucide bombings in the middle east, there is always one common denominator White Men. Riddle me that shit!

Shambolic Delhi police, utterly useless

I don’t understand the part about the statement taken by the magistrate on 21 Dec. What went wrong?

Could you clarify?

http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_delhi-gang-rape-metropolitan-magistrate-records-survivor-s-statement_1781614

There was controversy during the statement taking from the victim. Delhi Police were presurising the magistrate to use a questionaire instead of a full and complete statement.

The more you read the sicker and more disgusting it gets, and I have not stopped thinkin about this since she died. The worst part is, it is not that surprising, horrible things are done to women all over India all the time.

Seems like Dikshit is trying to survive by throwing Delhi politce “under the bus.” A classic dikshit move.

rumors are the delhi bar council has refused to represent them.

guilty without a trial it seems.hope that doesn’t happen
