Using this link is the fastest way to get your CFA exam results. for sure now fellas. requesting the day off TODAY… no matter what happens, Mr. Crown will be there to support me.

that is a good idea - - we could go out on Aug 17 and get slammed, pass out and wake up at 2pm on Aug 18, lazily log in and then keep drinking in joy or anger after seeing the results

OMG… i literally almost crapped myself when the email popped in my inbox at work.

Yep August 18th. But if it’s anything like last year they will screw up and release a huge clue as to who passed and who didn’t the weekend before the 18th and it will generate a weekend of angst as everyone tries to figure out what the dreaded “check mark” or “no check mark” means on their registration page.

Greenspan, which clue are you referring to? What kind of check mark starts appearing on the registration page?

It shows checkmarks on what you have completed so far in the CFA Program. i.e. level I registration check; level one completed check; level II registration check; level II completed CHECK. Ended up that you passed the test when you got your results a couple days later. I believe that is what Greenspan is referring to.

yeah that was a huuuuge mess. although i wasnt sure if this was 100% applicable to every who saw the infamous “check”. did it end up being an actual indicator across the board???

It was for me. Didn’t see the check mark and here I am again.

I remember Dinesh saw the L2 Link and registered before the results were even officially released.

Man, I’d be pretty upset if I saw the check but then saw FAIL a few days later.

It was 100% accurate. The posts from that time period are still around and you can see what happened. We essentially found out our results on the Saturday before the Tuesday that results were to be released. Here’s the explanation of what happened last year (2008): http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?12,811487,page=1 2008 results thread: http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?12,813361,813363#msg-813363 The same thing happened in 2007: http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?13,595742,596485#msg-596485

Imagine, I got a letter in the mail, with the CFA logo on the envelope, about 2 weeks after the exam. I was literally shaking while opening it, thinking it was a PCP investigation notice, and the shaking did not stop for about half hour. No, it was not a PCP, nothing related to the exam.

It was not 100% accurate according to this: http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?12,810071,814532#msg-814532 The last message says he never saw the link and he still passed. Maybe if you see the link, it means for SURE you passed, but if you don’t see the link, it doesn’t necessarily mean you failed. If CFA gave you a coin toss, heads you pass, tails you fail, would you take it right now?

Hell Yeah.

The window of time in which a candidate could determine whether or not they passed was sometime Saturday morning (depending upon when they updated each individual candidate’s information, which varied) through Sunday evening, at which point all links were removed and no further information was available. So people who missed the action over the weekend never saw anything until Tuesday at 9:00. That likely includes this fellow mni who posted in your reference. The method was checked exhaustively after results were posted. Hundreds of AF members posted their results and many also posted whether they saw the applicable link during the specified timeframe. I cross referenced with multiple co-workers on the same issue.

Did anyone get any additional info on new test centres? I’m in Dubai and the email I got said there was a new centre opening in Dubai which would be ready by the December 2009 exam which is great cuz I had to travel 3 hours for Level 2 to take the exam in a different city…

i have always wondered about foreign countries. do they offer the test in arabic or is it in english everywhere? like in China it’s in Chinese?

No man, it’s in English. F*king hell, imagine preparing hundreds of tests in hundreds of different languages. The CFAI would go berserk.
