Exam date 23rd June?

They should do a survey and see how muslims feel about that change

1- instead of having the exam early Ramadan, they will be spending the whole month of Ramadan + EID holidays studying

2- 99% are obsesses about football. They will sure miss the world cup

3- I know so many muslims that did not fast on exam day and it was one day only. Now, they will have to deal with a whole month of studying while fasting!

Their fasting during exam preparation is their sacrifice. Trying to make it ease would be a blasphemy if the Catholics were concerned instead. But I don’t know anything about Islam.

Besides, this is certainly not a Muslim exam than an Anglo Protestant exam per se.

So, CFAI gives muslims more difficulty with the new exam date?

I’m disappointed anytime I see an organization placate a few vocal complainers, especially for what is essentially a non-issue (my understanding is that one can skip fasting for a day and make it up later plus a donation to the poor). This is particularly disappointing as I’m among those in the northern hemisphere who will now have to sacrifice an additional 20% of the summer to studying as a result of this change.

I don’t buy the “3 extra weeks of studying” reasoning as everybody calibrates their studying to the exam date. This will have the same negligible effect on performace as if the CFAI released the curriculum materials 3 weeks earlier.

They have the test on a Sunday for Orthodox Jews.

When we’re talking about it. I do not intend to offend anyone, just am debating.

An example of one IPS case study says a daughter who doesn’t live with her husband decided to take her child with her and is leaving her family. She needs nothing from her family except inherited money. Now, if it is in accordance with Islam or orthodox Jewish, I mean a minor problem is a timing of exam. I’m just curios.

muslims will now have to study during the whole month of Ramadan, a month in which they will be fasting, in addition to doing other worshiping rituals and specifically during the last ten days of Ramadan where they pray after midnight for two to three hours. After Ramadan comes eid holiday when muslims must gather with their families (similar to Christmas).

How come this change helps muslims perform better in the exam?

Probably cause people bitched about it being an issue, without fully thinking through the predicament they’d put themselves in if they pushed back the exam.

Yes, I concur.

Now I think CFAI received some emails from muslim candidates, so they tried to do something. They could make exam date sooner but they were afraid people would complain because we would have less prepare days. So they delay exam date to 24 july.

Perhaps CFAI didnt anticipate the new exam date trouble muslim candidates.

really? How do they accommodate this…

really? How do they accommodate this…

This has zero impact on other test takers.

Total cluster-F… the day we walk out of the exam, the days are getting shorter… and miss NBA and WC finals… Why not MAY, before Rhamadan??? PC run amok!!!

There is a link on their site to request for approval to appear for the examination on the following Sunday I believe.

Do you guys think we have a chance to push them to cancel the stupid decision that was made??

I really hope I won’t have to worry about that.

Unlikely. They have to coordinate with testing facilities all over the world. I know that if I fail, I’m waiting until they move the exam back to early June. I’m just one person and won’t make a dent in CFAI’s bottom line, but I’m hoping many others will consider opting for the year after. The only color CFAI cares about is green and if enough of us don’t show up on the 23rd, they’ll get the hint.

But if I pass, I’ll probably forget about the whole thing and move on with my life!

+1

Nobody’s brought this point up: Think how much more excruciating summer will be if you have to wait until August 28th or Septmber 4th to get those L3 scores.
