I’ve had CFA dreams for about the last 30 days. They are the WORST!!! Don’t start. Last nights dream was on Swaps. LAME. You’ve got it, no reason to freak out. The one thing I’m not sure of in the next 14 days is when do I say no to the practice exams and put that time into add’l studying. Any magical insights?
for what it’s worth, I think the best use of time is to take practice exams, when you see a question you’re not sure about write it down, after exam take your list of things you didn’t get, open your books and dive into those issues for an hour. Studying on its own with no problems yields very little, at least for me.
i should have the dreams. i had them last year. maybe i’m not focused enough. i think doing the exams will tell you what you should be doing. i started to review stuff because it was clear to me after taking some practice exams where my weaknesses were. LIKE FCFE after than second exam!
Agreed Smarshy, plus you know, I’m just sick of reading, I’m ready to get some feedback, for better or worse it gives me something more exciting to do. Not to mention, maybe some added motivation and reminder of what I need to brush up on. I’m thinking some review tonight and tomorrow with the third sample tomorrow night, one of the mocks on Monday, and the other mock next Saturday.
how long each exam take? i am not referring to the mocks but the practice exams?
the sample exams are 30 q’s with 2 hours to do them, although I usually finish them way ahead of that. You should be aiming for 1.5 hours given that the actual exam gives you 3 hours for 60 q’s.
my problem is i am hopeless reading questions online. I already know that this will impact the score and I do not want to get demotivated. At least i will focus my energy to revise not panic over these f… online exams. oh well this is the best of cfa!!! do you problems reading online?
Good advice everyone. more testing it is. I’d like to say that I’d do 5% better if I wasn’t taking the stupid tests on line, scrolling up and down, and getting computer screen headaches but who knows…
I get poor scores on online tests compared to pen&paper tests… I just began printing out the book 6 tests… and I see atleast 2-3 points higher scores on the ones that I print out. It is so much easier underlining and highlighting as you go along… in a way, atleast to me, this helps me map out my thought process. I dont have a choice with the CFAI mock and sample tests…they will have to be online… one small solace? - the actual exam is not online.
so can you go back to a question on the cfa mocks? i hate that you can’t go back.
gmofden, what’d you score on the second sample exam?
