What’s good out there? I like hearing a lot of bass
BEATS BRO
It’s all about that bass
No, don’t go for Beats. Overpriced and muffly sound, not to mention they break in 2 weeks. If you’re willing to splurge, you can’t go wrong with the Sennheiser Momentum II. They look sick, and the audio quality is top notch.
YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH BEATS BRO
Just got a pair of Bose noise cancelling (Overear, not buds) headphones. A friend got them for me for 1/2 price, but they would be well worth full price. Plus I have another friend who has had his for ~3.5 years.
fite me.
I use $15 Scullcandy earbuds. The key to audio quality is the source file, not the headphone.
GIGO.
Recently purchased some Audio-Technica ATH-S700BT wireless headphones and I like them, wireless headphones arent the greatest but I got tired of dealing with the wires. The bass is boosted on these which I dont like. I enjoyed the sound on my Sennheiser HD-360’s before, they are studio monitors (hence flat) and the sound was so crisp and perfect on them.
I would recommend the Audio technica headphones if you are looking to spend around 120 bucks and it will generate a higher sound quality than beats.
Thats not true in the slightest, terrible headphones with FLAC still sound like crap. I use a pair of skullcandies that wrap around my ears to run/workout and they work fine & get the job done but the sound quality isnt particularly good.
Grado or hacksaw
I had Audiotechnica headphones as well (ATH-m50s), and while I recommend them on the basis of their sound quality, the wire was like 2 meters long and the earcups were waaaay too big. Plus they look kind of cheap (this only matters if you’re as superficial as I am). They’re not particularly portable either.
^^ Thats why I went with the wireless ATH-S700BT as my Sennheisers ridiculously long cord was giving me problems as well. I think the ones I got are aimed a bit more at taking beats customers as the sound is a bit EQd for my liking but it is a tad more stylish than the m50 while keeping their signature look. Very convenient and I am glad I switched the sound quality of my Sennheisers for the portability/convenience of my ATs.
Sennheisers have the best sound for the price, but beats are pretty durable too but its overpriced for what it is even though I do like the look.
Headphones are for peons. BSD’s have guys follow them around with full-sized speakers.
Most expensive earphones on sale for £3,500 Earphones thought to be the most expensive in the world have gone on sale for £3,500.
or hacksaw.
I use these Sony Bass earbuds. They have good base and I don’t have to telegraph to the world I can’t hear what is going on around me.
I have been using beats studio for a few months. I’m extremely tough on them and they haven’t broken yet. You can’t blow out the bass drivers which is a plus. I bought a 2 year insurance plan on them for all damages so if they break I just get a new pair.
My last pair of oversized headphones broke as I was getting off my roadbike. I quickly just hopped out of the seat and the cord caught on something and shorted out one side of the headphones, rendering it silent.
The beats have pop out cords which is nice as I have done the same thing in various ways on them, but the cord just pops out. Also, I kind of prefer the corded beats to the wireless as the microphone in the cord is pretty good and its easy just to take phone calls when you’re in the middle of jamming out through your phone. The calls sound very good and it is clear.
^ You wear headphones when road biking?
Yeah - no helmet, oversize headphones, skate shoes on keo pedals, on a carbon fiber madone frame with aerobars.
I think the headphones might be illegal. I’m pretty safe but also very aggressive in traffic.
