How do you relax?

Guys, how do you relax? I am so stressed lately. Although, I sleep 4-5 hours during the week and I am so tired at the end of the day, I still cannot fall asleep quickly. I just cannot stop thinking and worrying. I do exercise in the morning (4 days/week) and do not drink coffee at all. I also noticed lately that I am not hungry and sometimes I am forcing myself to eat something during the day. Any recommendations?

I hear coke off a hooker’s ass is great  no really, johnnie walker on the rocks in a large enough quantity helps with sleep, skim lattes at starbucks really helps in the morning, and if you wait long enough you will get hungry

Personally, I just go on a light amount of sleep all week and then crash on friday nights. Not the ideal way and if its a quiet week I might need a lot of coffee at work. However, when its busy its fun and that keeps me awake.

“I just cannot stop thinking and worrying” - thinking and worrying about what? I think Danteshek gave sage advice.

Cohiba Siglo VI for days when you are very stressed out.

Run around a crowded public area kicking people Leonidas style while screaming “THIS IS SPARTA!!!” and spit in their face while you do it. soon you’ll be running for your life and too busy to be stressed and worried about whatever you were stressed and worried about! :P. Rinse, repeat as necessary…try different location, like a boxing gym, a MMA training gym, a shooting range, … diversify your locations for optimal effectiveness.

Thanks everyone! I guess I should have said that I am a woman  cfa_gremlin, two big projects, work, school, new job search, cfa and the list continues…

sleep

Have sex. That should help you sleep. When you orgasm, it releases sleep inducing hormones.

My God, this is how you guys talk to women? I’m all for enjoying locker room talk now and then… but keep it in the locker room, dudes. Why not a nice day spa to relax one day after work? Or on the weekend? A lot of nice hotels have them, if you’re not in a city that has spas of their own. Just mark off an afternoon or an evening where you decide not to think about work. Have a massage, treat yourself to a nice dinner with friends, and open up one of your favorite books (NOT CFA, naturally).

What kind of workout do you do? If you are doing it in the morning, I am guessing light, quick one. I lift weights 2 nights a week. It takes little more than 2hrs including warm-up/cool down (running and stretching). I play ball hockey on Sat, weather permitted. I also ice skate and swim on Sun with my kid. I sleep like a baby (though sound like a beast sometimes, according to my wife) at night. Best of luck.

LOST The Office Reading The Economist or WSJ Go to a movie Sports and most importantly…ALCOHOL!

Deep breathing and meditation helps the mind relax. Drink a glass of warm milk(plain - no sugar or chocolate syrup added) before going to bed- this will help u fall asleep. A hot shower helps too. also, the couple of hours before your bedtime, avoid excess sounds, i.e, tv, loud music etc. Sweet dreams

CFA Halifax… Me too w.r.t. The Economist. There’s something just nice about that publication. Willy
