Only injury will stop fed from winning this one. I think Querry finally breaks through to the final. Fed at WORST drops a set to him. We will see.
Cilic will beat Querrey pretty comfortably I think. Cilic is really good on grass and has a chance of beating Fed if they meet in the final.
Some hyperbolism on my part.
I hope Fed wins it. I hope he doesn’t get complacent now that his traditional rivals are all out.
I don’t think he will be given the fact he knows he only has so many more runs at this thing. He will be clinical unless someone is able to disrupt his game plan.
My man Murray crashed out, gutted. Didn’t see the Querry match but watched most of the Fognini match so wasn’t too surprised that he went out.
On paper Fed has this in the bag but I have a funny feeling he won’t win. Cilic is playing good tennis, both semis should be good matches.
Us Brits still have Konta to cheer on though, something tells me that her semi with Venus Williams is going to turn into a bit of a car crash.

huuuuh

Leaving on top seems to be a lost art. Just ask Michael Jordan, Brett Favre and Roger Federer.
Watching Feds play now reminds me of that 50 year old at the bar still believing he can pick up the 20 year old hot babe.
LOL the first post of this thread in 2013
This is the thread that will sink FT AF HOF candidacy

LOL.
if FT had any pride left, he would have retired after Roger’s 18th.

Eh, idk if “comfortably” is the word to describe how Cilic beat Querry today tbh. Fed looks super sharp, wouldn’t bet against him.

says the guy who predicted querrey in the finals despite never sniffing a semi before
Poor Pete Sampras. Just 15 years ago he was the unquestioned GOAT. A couple of good years by Djokovic and Sampras will drop to 4th in less than a generation.

Very true. Nobody talks about Sampras anymore. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have taken tennis to another level beyond Sampras.
Sampras is still one of the greatest . He retired at age 31

No one will remember that in 10 more years they’ll just see Federer, Nadal and maybe Djokovic with more GS titles… Also, Federer had 17 GS titles at 31, Nadal is 31 and has 15, and Djokovic could have 14 or 15 too with a couple of good years (he just turned 30 a couple of months ago). It’s kind of like how almost no one considers Bobby Jones in the discussion of golf’s GOAT. He retired at 29 with 13 major championships and is still the only golfer to win the calendar year Grand Slam, which he did in the year he retired.
Djokovic will not be considered better than pistol Pete. I put Pete in the top 5-6 of GOATs
sampras is above djok and nadal

sampras is above djok and nadal
I agree, but will play devil’s advocate for Nadal being higher:
Nadal has 15 GS titles (and counting), Sampras 14
Nadal has the career grand slam, Sampras doesn’t
Nadal got his 15 at the same time that the GOAT was in his prime, Sampras got his in a time of very good, but not all-time great, players
