^As I’ve always stated, if he’s still making Grand Slam semis, he can still compete. In the past 3 years he’s made more semis and finals than 95% of the top 100 will ever play in their whole careers. (4 SF, 3F out of 10 GS appearances). Sure he’s not winning the finals anymore and this last year has been pretty weak by his standards, but he’s still a joy to watch out there and only 3 players really have his number. That said I think 2017 will be his last season and I hope he proves you wrong.
Former trader still thinks he won this thread
Not only do I declare victory, it’s a KO.
If Usain Bolt was hanging around for another 5 years and consistently finished in 4th place in big races, I would start a thread about him too.
100% love it when people who’ve never been good at anything in their lives criticize all time greats. Always good for a chuckle.
It’s pretty funny isn’t it

Wow, has Rafael Nadal actually lasted more than 3 consecutive matches? Drug testing please.
You are proving my point. Fans are now getting orgasms over a 5 set win in the round of 16.

You are proving my point. Apologists are now getting orgasms over a 5 set win in the round of 16.
Yo FT
where do you want the GOATs penis? In your mouth or up your bunghole?
If he wins this, I’m 100% sure this will be the considered his most meaningful win both personally and by his fans.
Absolutely. I think he’d call it a career after this season if he won a Grand Slam. That said, he would not be the favourite if its Nadal he’s playing against. Surprising to see Rafa is still only 30 years old. #StillGOAT
I like FT but he was way off on this one. If Fed wins this, it will most likely be his most satisfying major of his career. It is the Australian Open so not as prestigious as a Wimbledon or a US Open but still a major championship. Everybody had written him off. Hope it is Fed vs. Nadal.

Fed has another slam left in him. He obviously loves the game so why should he retire? He is not Sampras (who started to hate the game with the mental and physical grind taking its toll). Federer is not that guy - he can play well into his thirties.
As long as he believes he can continue to win tennis tournaments, why would you want to give it up? Athletes hate to retire because they know that they will never experience the highs of professional sports ever again. If you retire on top, you always have that element of regret that you could have won more!
Bump from 2013
I’m leaning Baby Fed over nadal in semis to set up a historic 18 Grand Slams for the GOAT
Federer vs. Nadal. Federer is on the bad side of that match up. Good thing is that Nadal just played a 5 hour semi-final and Federer has an extra day of rest. 17 majors vs. 14 majors. Unreal.
Not the matchup I wanted but it was inevitable from a historic sense. Hard to believe Rafa is still only 30 despite being injured for such a long time. Will be tuning in at 3am in the morning. Lets go FED!
60 Grand Slam titles in the men’s and women’s finals combined.
