illegal immigrants and the US economy

The law does not allow local law enforcement to harass anyone for any reason. There has to be some form of legal, legitimate police contact before there is any asking of papers. Here are some basic facts: 1) The law SPECIFICALLY bans racial profiling in any way IN WORDS, i.e. the statute states racial profiling is not allowed. 2) “Reasonable suspicion” is term and precedent used by many jurisdictions nationwide and has been upheld in court 3) The Arizona law runs CONCURRENT to federal law, meaning it agrees exactly with federal law–the only difference is that federal law is not enforced. Many cases have been adjudicated where states and local jurisdictions have been allowed/forced to enforce federal law. There is no constitutional question with regard to this law. 4) It has been federal law since 1940 that all legal immigrants carry their green card or like kind documentation at ALL TIMES indicating their legal resident status. The Left likes to refer to illegal aliens as “undocumented workers”–I’ve got news for you: being undocumented has been illegal for 70 years. Basically, whenever there is a police stop–traffic violation, domestic abuse, public drunkenness, etc. the police will call the ICE hotline and check the resident status of the individual. This law is not particularly outrageous–it simply enforces federal law with most of the enforcement burden falling on people under suspicion of committing crimes.

You seem abnormally crazy. Did you just learn how badly Glenn Beck’s ratings have tumbled recently?

^^ all right. dude. no harsh feeling. We just have different views on certain political things. Don’t watch Glenn Beck often as we have Bloomberg TV or CNBC here all day long… But some of Beck’s stuff, espeically numbers, don’t really hold water.

^^^ Some? How about the crazy symbolism he always does trying to relate everything to a muslim cresent or a hammer and sickle? Talk about off your rocker. Jon Stewart does a great impression of him.

I somehow never really enjoy the sense of humor by Jon Stewart. He’s a likeable guy though. Just too much liberal spin in his works. Truely a Leno fan. His stuff can be racy, but he pokes fun at both parties.

Except when he allowed GWB to edit his appearance during his first run. Stewart is more old school when he debates opponents and I wouldnt label his opinions as spin but more as fact. Thats what he does when he calls people out, he literally plays tapes of them contradicting themselves or correcting them when the mistate a fact, not opinion. If you believe that the left and right have equal amounts of spin then you wont enjoy his humor, but if you accept that the right has to spin alot of its positions that facts simply dont support then it is pretty funny. GWB was probably the single biggest proponent of constitutionally questionable use of executive power, and now BO is trampling the constitution? A constitutional law professor who left the law making to the legislature? Yeah that makes sense.

Putting GWB and BO aside since most Americans have realized that it’s a mistake to put them in the Whilte House. Leno does a great job self-deprecating on himself, LA, CA, etc. It makes him more personable. Like on Tuesday, he said Arizona rounded up the illegal immigrants there and sent them back to their home city of… Los Angeles… I just don’t watch Jon Stewart often enough to see that in him.

See right there, where do you get the idea that most Americans, I am guessing greater than 50% is your definition, dont believe that BO should be in the Whitehouse? Most Americans didnt vote GWB into the Whitehouse the first time so you would be factually accurate there.

Well if we’re going to talk about “most Americans”, most Americans didn’t vote for either president (BO or GB), as we only have slightly more than 50% voter turnout.

You guys are right on this point - We will never know if most Americans will do this or that. That’s why we have statistics and polls. Most Polls (NBC, WSJ or ABC) showed that BO’s approval/supporting rate was at 47%-49% range a couple weeks ago. Statistically, a sample (at this national poll size) is representative of the population… So IT IS most Americans… BTW, did you guys see that Mark Haines at CNBC called BO “a communist”, “a socialist” on TV this morning, around 10:15- 10:20 ET time frame?

Yes I did. Did you also see 5 seconds later when he said he was kidding because the right was trying to paint him as a guardian of Wall Street and that he really didnt believe that? This is my point, a perfectly funny comment actually making fun of the right and you use it as a talking point, or rather a quote. Hannity and Fox&Friends are excellent at doing this and Jon Stewart makes them look like complete d bags by playing the whole segment of footage.

^^ I think that’s Haines cover-up as he often does when he slips out his true political views. There is no secret that he is a conservative in many issues such as small government, etc. He constantly makes fun of politicans, esp, senators and congressman at hearings, and expresses suspicion on the populism politics BO plays. That said, IMO, the guy doesn’t have a fashion sense at all. Look his choice of ties everyday.

Look at the arm candy that offsets his trollish looks. And he graduated from law school which is pretty interesting. I think he drinks and has an ornery attitude that appeals to many older white guys who wish they could spend an hour everyday flirting with Erin Burnett.
