Is it too late to start?

Coin only has 2 sides. Exam has 4 choices. I’d say save yourself time of flipping a coin and instead mark everything A as the correct answer. Your probability of passing the exam stays the same whether you flip or not.

Ok, I wish that I’ll pass Level I now in June, and that we will not study together for the Level II:) NO HUNTING!

flip twice for one question marking everything A is a fail for sure… flipping a coin may bring him to the right tail of normal distribution lol

you’d have to flip 3 times for each question. The next thing you’d be doing after so many flips, is flipping burger, not writing CFA exams.

Hi Black Swan, I think it’s completely doable. Since L1 is mostly of Ethics + FSA, you could start with Book-3, intial readings are easy with all IS, BS and CF stuff, then It gets on to ratio’s, EPS stuff which is easy too. Things get bad in DTA/DTL’, leases and Off-balance-sheet items and it’s adjustments. Assuming your parents are correct, you are going to breeze Quant. PM and Derivatives is not worth the read, too many pages too lessa a gain from them. Just do Equities DDM models and FI duration/convexity and you will be good. I know time is a crunch, but 3 full weeks, if you study like 15 hrs a day. I think it’s still possible. + PRAY a lot. Hope this helps. See you at L2.

dinesh, should I skip AM along with PM?

mara@LOL nice!! yeah why bother.

When registering for L1, there is this little drop-down box that you have to choose to be albe to give the PM section from home but CFAI does not allow AM at home and they are pretty straight on that. Since the Holland tunnel is pretty jammed in the evenings, I decide to take the PM from home and they sent me the RSA security token to connect to the CFAI website and download the PM module. But I would really recommend you to take both the exams in the hall itself, we feel much more focussed than in the coziness of the futton.

Any advice for the true / false section?

Black Swan, I am not music major but I was in the choir for 3 years and my sister is an account specialist. We have so much in common. We should start studying together. We can take breaks and sing to each other. What do you think?

Unless your mother told you so, it must be false!

BS - Of the 240 questions, the new rule say’s just 10 questions AM and 10 questions PM would be T/F kinda questions. And believe me, those are realy browny points. I mean they ask crap stuff like Q. In case of conflict for project selection in a mutually-exclusive limited-budged corporate-environment, Suzan chose to use IRR decision over the NPV decision. Has Suzan chosen the correct capital budgeting decision tool. A. TRUE B. FALSE

She hasn’t chosen the correct method. So does that make the answer false? You guys are too much. Level One-ers get to see all they have to look forward to.

what is mutually exclusive?

Black Swan, The big thing you should be concerned about is the exam tickets. The CFAI recently admitted to being notified by the USPS that many exam tickets simply will not arrive in time to the candidates homes. I hope your got yours as the CFAI is strict about not reissuing tickets. Lastly, here is GREAT advice you’ll only hear on AF. No unoffical formula sheet is allowed at the test center. But, you still have time to order the OFFICIAL Schwerser formula sheet to bring in with you. With that in hand, you should have a good chance of passing. I think you’ll be fine Swan. After all, in another post didn’t you mention you have your Series 7 License?

Out of all the given projects at hand, ony one could be chosen - thats mutually exclusive. I can also give the hint if it’s too difficult, the ans starts with F

dinesh, are you saying the statement is correct?

dinesh.sundrani Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Out of all the given projects at hand, ony one > could be chosen - thats mutually exclusive. Wait, wha wha what! Are you telling me mutually exclusive has nothing to do with elitist mutual funds? WTF, now CFAI is just messing with us.

BS, I was told by one my friend who is talking L2 this june - that if you hv to guess, choose “B” as emperically thatz where most weight is… So my strategy for L1 is to Guess “B” for all the unknown … you try that too…
