Technically, we do not have a continent or boundaries for Middle East. It spans South Europe, North Africa and South Asia. It is more associated with origin of religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam - and lately terrorism.

Speaking of which - I went to Egypt on holiday last December and was surprised how they were not keen to be called Africans, but a preference for Middle East. Sure, they look different(given their neighbour is Sudan), but everything else is African as they come - a dictator, poverty and corruption - and a hard working middle class.
JOE, absolutely. Moroccans too (at least from what I’ve observed). Egypt has to be one of the most corrupt countries around…
Iran, Iraq, Emirates etc all like to be called Middle East as well, not Asia. In general Middle eastern people like to be called middle eastern actually.
