Joey, are you really "the" Brian Aldershof? Or is it a gag?

Joey, are you really “the” Brian Aldershof? Or is it a gag?

If I correctly remember the answer on a similar question from about a month ago, Brian is Joey’s evil twin brother. Milos

So he is it? In my internet searches I could see some “french” background with Aldershof (the Graham one). Vivre = is a french word And due to the fact that he is so keen on ethics (you remember his policy discussion) it is not probable that he writes a wrong name in his profile. Ok. There could be two different Brian Alderhofs, but Joey wrote in some others threads (Level II-Thread) that he had the exams “long” time ago. That fits the Aldershof information on the website (you mentioned the thread milo), both seem to be CFA charterholders. --> Based on my research I think it’s him - although we still need more information… May be somebody had a visual contact with Joey and can give a confirmation? Joey, I hope you are fine with our investigations. Are we right or did we miss a mosaic piece?.. Pls, Joey, support our research.

Don’t waste your time on “JoeyDVivre” because this is the name of a hotel he stayed while he was preparing for the exam (if I’m not mistaking). P.S. I think there are more than enough potential members for a modest fun club  Milos

Didn’t search for JoeyDVivre, searched for “Brian Aldershof” which he put as real name in his analyst forum account. And that Aldershof stayed in some Hotels for his preparation can be read on this homepage (see thread you mentioned Milos) I am just curios about Joey’s Identity and fed up with preparing for Level I. Have another hint. Aldershof published some math stuff (see internet). I mean Joey loves quant. Put a quant question and he is (besides maratikus) one of the first ones to answer.

I’m actually The Dick Cheney. Who wants to go hunting this weekend?

I take this reaction as confirmation. Thanks Joey.

Milos I am right.

To distinguish fact from opinion: My feeling says that there is a very high probibility that Joey is Alderhof. I mean, if he was Aldershof he couldn’t says: “yes i am Aldershof”. And yes i am spending a lot of my working time in this chat. If he’s not Aldershof ok - who is he? All investigation gives clear hints. And everybody should say thank you to Joey (whoever he is), because he helps the CFA candidates a lot and many of his answers have a good qualitity .

Just to see if my analyst mind is in a good shape. Here some research news: “Re: Confidence Interval new Posted by: JoeyDVivre (IP Logged) [hide posts from this user] Date: April 23, 2008 03:00PM Amazing how that Stats Ph.D. and 10 years of teaching stats in college pays off in answering CFA stats questions, huh?” He has a Ph.D. like Aldershoven. Joey, i think it’s you.

Get over it, Monsieur Hercule Poirot:)

Hypothesis: Joey is Dr. Brian Aldershof. H0: Joey is NOT Dr. Brian Aldershof Ha: Joey is indeed Dr. Brian Aldershof You take a sample of Joey’s bahaviors over the last 30 days and find there is a lot of similarities between Joey and Dr. Brian Aldershof, with only some minor differences, mainly in that Dr. Brian Aldershof is a little nicer in person. Using a 5% level of significance, you find that your sample’s mean falls outside the expected interval. You conclude that you cannot reject the null, and accept teh alternative that Joey is indeed Dr. Brian Aldershof.

Have now other hints from old Graham SEC filings… (Google is a nice tool, isn’t it?) I will close that thread, now. My curiosity is satisfied. Hope that the quest was ok for you, Joey. You truly help the candidates a lot with your posts, pls. don’t stop that… If you taught ten years, it is nice to practice here as a hobby. Bye, cfaisok

P.S. @Dreary: You can’t put equality in Ha. You should switch the H0 and Ha. Regards.

To prove Joey’s identity everything works.

:-), nice humor lady P.P.S Don’t worry. Joey, none of your colleagues will ever read this thread. “Google works not very good in finding names at analystforum.com

Sorry Joey, still one post for map1, because he wondered that you called yourself an eagle. JoeyD has been one of the “eagle” troop - you can find that (see 1979) on http:// www. geocities .com /Yosemite /Cabin /7690 /Troop89Eagles .htm

Something is wrong with that list. Because I am in this picture https://www.doubleknot.com/openrosters/ViewPhoto.asp?PhotoAlbumKey=2391&orgkey=957&photokey=46840 clearly wearing an Eagle Scout badge in 1978. We all had lots of hair then. Edit: That photo would make excellent wallpaper for your computers

It’s a great picture. I will print it out and take it with me on the exam’s day. May be it helps. Which one of these guys are you? It is difficult to recognize you because on the other graham picture you are little elder. I don’t want to program or buy an comparation algorithm…

Back row to the right of the really tall guy. Blond, geeky-looking
