Imagine calling yourself anti-establishment and then losing your mind because some Georgetown Prep/Yale/DC think tank chud is getting exposed for the absolute ghoul that he is?
were playing chess not checkers. Trust the plan. The world is already unrecognizable compared to two years ago and we’re just getting started. Trust the plan.
“With the Senate Judiciary Committee holding a vote at 9:30 A.M. tomorrow, a Senate insider has told Townhall that Kavanaugh has the votes to make it out of committee and the votes to be confirmed on the floor for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. Sens. Flake (R-AZ), Collins (R-ME), Murkowski (R-AK), and Manchin (D-WV) are expected to vote in favor of Kavanaugh. All the Republicans are voting yes. Also, in the rumor mill, several Democrats may break ranks and back Kavanaugh. That’s the ball game, folks.”
For what it is worth, I think another (very) conservative judge is not good for the system, and it will create a right leaning bias to all Supreme Court decisions for decades (why the F are these people there for life anyway?). The President is entrusted with the decision to choose Supreme Court judges. If people do not want to accept this decision… they should have elected someone else, not rely on last minute smear tactics to try to overturn lawful policy decisions after the fact.
Using a testimony full of holes to create a character assassination is worse than a political imbalance. If Kavanaugh is withdrawn, this will create a huge incentive for false allegations for any future appointee. What he did as a drunk teenager almost 40 years ago, that no one remembers, except one alleged victim who has perfect recollection despite everyone at the party being drunk and without any corroborating statements, and who did not report the incident until a political motive arose, is not nearly as important as Kavanaugh’s long and exemplary record as a judge. If the Senate proceeds with the vote and confirms Kavanaugh, it will be because they agree with this statement.
it’s actually pretty much impossible to find a person in any position of importance in DC who is not compromised in some way. learn to utilize imperfect allies.
Merrick B. Garland is somehow both A.) Not a rapist B.) Not a partisan hack. An exception, but someone that could get confirmed without permanently undermining the legitimacy of the supreme court.
I think since the whole Garland thing the rules with respect to Supreme Court confirmations is whatever you can get away with. It’s kind of like if you’re respectfully rolling with someone in BJJ and they start twisting fingers or eye gouging…I’m gonna fart on their face.
