Losing weight goal with 0 exercise

Yes I’m going to be lazy here. Looking to drop 20 lbs back to high school weight on pure intake control. Can it be done? I’m thinking bigger breakfast and lunch + no dinner except some fruit or handful of nuts.

That’s a crap plan. Also you cannot lose much weight with exercise.I guess you are a huge carb lover given the nature of your replies and comments, very easy to do though.

smaller breakfast, smaller lunch, smaller dinner…don’t skip meals.

Eating a healthy breakfast every day

* Four servings of vegetables as salads, sautéed vegetables and boiled vegetables.

* Three servings of fruits daily. Include a fruit with every meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and as snacks. Prefer whole fruits to fruit juices.

* Use healthy fats, such as olive oil and vegetable oils. Limit oils to 3-4 tsp per day (1/2 L per month)

* Cut back on sugar (2-3 tsp per day),

* Choose low-fat dairy products - prefer skimmed or double toned milk, low fat paneer, low fat yoghurt.

try this if you can

You can also try drinking a glass of water with honey/lemon in it (early morning).

Ive been doing that the last few months, specifically, eating smaller meals and cutting carbs. It’s been working but the one thing I’ve noticed is I feel very tired, lack of energy.

80% of weight loss comes from a decent diet, figure out what your Bmr is based on your hieght, weight and age (takes less than a minute online) multiply that by 1.2 and follow that calorie intake minus 500, you should lose the 20lbs of fat in less than 5 months. If you’re not up to counting calories just look up nuitrition info of what you normally eat so you know what to eliminate or minimise in terms of proportion.

Exercising is not limited to physical benefits, there are also mental benefits. Not wise to eliminate it entirely.

stop eating rice

I eat lot of rice…

If you want sustainable weight loss DO NOT try to do it in a couple months - it won’t stick. A 500 calorie deficit is probably reasonable but might be a bit too much. In any case you should focus on limiting carbs to around 100 grams per day and eating as much natural fats and proteins as you want until you are satiated. You can eat tons of vegetables under this macro count but should probably limit fruit to one or two pieces per day, at least in the first 6 weeks or so.

The key is limiting carbs so that your body re-learns how to burn fat for energy. If you stick to this you will lose 1-2 pounds per month and you won’t feel like you’re dieting at all. you will have much higher energy and won’t feel the need to eat every couple hours, which is an amazing feeling of freedom.

At the very least you should do some minimal exercise, like getting up to 70% of your max heart rate for 45 minutes every other day. A semi brisk stroll or a hike will accomplish that.

All you are going to do is lower your metabolism. Unless you want to stay on a restricted diet forever the weight will just come back. You gotta exercise.

100 calories of carbs per day? That’s only 1/3 of a beer. I’d prefer to get off my ass and then I eat and drink as I please with no concerns. I still eat healthy (zero processed food, low sugar), but I eat pretty big volumes. I also enjoy a cold one or two with dinner.

lots of plant based foods … eat dark green leafy like it’s your job. Don’t overload on too much sugar and no grain. Limit oils.

^disagree on oils. Great source of healthy fat, depending on the source. Olive, coconut - fantastic. Corn, soybean - not so much.

Go to a nutritionist and get a blood/thyroid test done before hand to make sure everything is in order. The amount of pseudoscience or anecdotal advice is worrying given most of these people don’t come from modest educational backgrounds.

i agree with gabe. also check your B and D vitamins

^ Who is gabe ?

Yeah, I used to compete in MT so I know how to drop/gain weight but still don’t listen to all the grandma selma advice on here, go to a professional. I bet most of these guys giving advice are over/under weight. If you are too lazy to go , you are too lazy to lose weight.

^ate you lumping me in on this comment?
