Oh, hey look, I scrolled further down to another article on that link and found somebody who knows something!
John Sipher, who served as a CIA clandestine services officer for 28 years, told Insider that the image Trump tweeted out could have come from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and while it’s unclear how sensitive the photo was, the NGA can quickly provide images at all classification levels, including unclassified images.
In this case, Sipher said, "it’s possible the intelligence representative was able to quickly determine that the image was not sensitive."
Again, I ask, what is the benefit of Trump sharing this picture with the world? If you can make a reasonable case that there’s a benefit, I’d be happy to hear it.
In general, I’d prefer our leaders to take actions that benefit the country in some fashion. The most disturbing part of this episode is that Trump does things like this - apparently unilaterally - that have no discernible benefit.
Maybe, just maybe it provides a clear barb at Iran while also letting them know unsubtly that we know exactly what they’re doing, where they’re doing it and when and they’re not as clever as they think?
Did that possibly occur to you? Is it the style or format you prefer? Probably not, but that’s entirely irrelevant.
All of this annoying fuss of biased village idiots is really just speculation. Even the cited “experts” in nothing agree its quite possible that the image was just an unclassified and unsensitive satellite image in the same article you posted. From there onward any speculation is purely that, the mental midgets and Frisians of the world just pushing what we established pages ago, that you’re biased on any Trump related topic to the point of being incapable of objective or independent thought.
Honestly you’re just tisk tisking over something that frankly is purely speculation without the underlying details. Three posts later you still haven’t proven any downside. So there it is.
If it’s a barb directed at Iran, why show something like that to Russia, China, or North Korea, not to mention various non-state extremists? What’s the 4-D chess reason to show off our capabilities to the world beyond Iran?
Question. Do you think that 1) this tweet was the considered opinion of folks, including State, Defense, intelligence agencies, et al, all designed to create some benefit to the US? Or 2) that Donald Trump snapped a picture and thought it would be so Team America alpha male and made a unilateral decision to send it out to the world?
I’m thinking #2 is much closer to the truth, and that concerns me. I’m not sure what your angle is. I think Trump is an incompetent, unethical, racist, misogynistic, and potentially compromised figure who is repeatedly taking dumps in our neighborhood pool. And your primary angle seems to be trying to make fun of people like me who object to turds in our pool. Like you said earlier, you like to watch the world burn. Whatever.
In your vast military knowledge, who do you think supplies Iran, you think they’re building their own Sukhoi’s? You do realize most people are comparing these to the satellite photos in terms of quality that Bush used to publicly push the Iraq war about 20 years ago when Facebook was just a twinkle in the Zuck’s eye?
You’re the butt of your own joke, the moral equivalent of people on the right who cried over everything Obama did for 8 years and speculate for the sole purpose of being offended. The bitter irony about losers of all stripes is that they aren’t even good at losing.
Again, as someone that worked for a prime defense contractor on classified R&D at one point, anybody who believes this showcases some technology Russia et all didn’t know with absolute certainty we had is a special kind of idiot. As your intellectual peers on the right would say, “Here’s your sign.”
I was abundantly clear in my posts that I consider both of these groups of people to be different sides of the same idiotic coin.
Neither should have done that, they should be reprimanded on some level internally, but we all know people getting outraged over this stuff type with their index fingers.
Fair enough – I just think it’s kind of an emotional point for a lot of people, especially those who lean left. While you might be logically consistent, society and the media aren’t.
When I first saw this photo I was mind blown at how bad the tailors were. Then I looked along the edges by their waists and saw its a bad photo shop as evidenced by the obviously twisted lines in the pavers. SAD!
Dude literally had a sharpie on his desk and is trying to pass it off like it’s official and not something he did. This is something I’d expect out of a 8 year old.
