What I don’t understand is why the cop
Is trying to reason with these idiots. Shouldn’t these guys be eating carpet with a knee in their back? Society’s gotten a little too soft.
Do you guys think Pence should invoke the 25th after what happened in Capitol?
Yes. Donald Trump incited an insurrection against Congress that resulted in five people dying. He shouldn’t be president another day. I’m so f-ing over people caring WTF Donald Trump thinks or what will happen if they cross him. F him.
I don’t know. I see some commentary online that it was an inside job, but I think the capitol police were largely overrun and couldn’t keep people out of everywhere. Also a mob that was likely well-armed. Yes, I was disappointed about the lack of immediate arrests but guess what? The US Capitol has all kinds of surveillance technology, and anyone who appears on camera or was carrying a phone is likely to get a call from the FBI. There were arrests today in Arkansas, Hawaii, West Virginia, etc., and many more will come. These domestic terrorists made sure the event was well-documented on their own FB feeds.
What about the ones with whom the rioters were taking selfies?
Yes, I think those police should answer some questions. On the whole, I think the attack could have been much worse. I’m glad there wasn’t a gun battle in our capitol.
Also, I’ve been following a few threads of open source photographic investigation. Interesting to follow, and it has results such as the below. I expect this guy will soon be arrested.
The dude who stole Pelosi’s lectern arrested in Florida.

Another dude who probably won’t be a free man much longer.
wow…I’m not saying he’s a loser, but I won’t deny it, either. It seems that his wife works to sustain the family of 7 while he wastes time on social media.
and for the NY Post article… there has been a meme that crazy conspiracy theorists live in the basement, but to actually see one coming out of the basement…lmao
This jut isn’t true. This was a publicized event, full of people egged on by Trump, not a flash mob. The police had plenty of time to prepare, but chose not to – because they’re all on the same side.
The police were ‘overrun’ because the protesters weren’t black, and thus force wasn’t justified.
I don’t know. I think the lack of preparation and the late national guard response were both very puzzling and concerning. I’ve read reports that Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota senator, will be in charge of figuring out what happened, and I suspect that will be interesting. Several law enforcement figures associated with the Capitol Police and the Congress have been fired or resigned already.
However, my personal feeling is that in any such crazy situation, chaos reigns, and thousands of people will perform in those situations in thousands of different - and likely irrational - ways, for all kinds of reasons. For example, I wouldn’t expect that several hundred members of the Capitol Police would behave as a single coherent entity.
We’ll see more about that angle. For now, I’m pleased that some of these terrorists are getting arrested.
The dude with the horns and painted face got arrested and charged today.

A little bit of satire, from Alexandra Petri at the Washington Post.
“Destroying planets and using fear of this battle station to keep the local systems in line was my No. 1 passion until — about 30 seconds ago, weirdly! That was when I saw the X-wings that had evaded our turbo-lasers and were proceeding down a trench toward our vulnerable thermal exhaust port — and realized I had to speak up. I thought: What if remorselessly destroying planets isn’t my passion? What if my real passion is staying alive and avoiding the consequences of my actions?”
Honestly, I don’t even know why this happened. DJT lost the vote at the polls, then claimed election fraud. (I get that. It was an extremely close election, and he thinks he should have won.)
He sued the four states in question. (as is his right) He lost.
His own Attorney General said there was no voter fraud.
The state of Texas sued the four states in question. The matter went before the Supreme Court. They unanimously rejected Texas’s claim. (That would include the three Justices that Trump nominated.)
His hand-picked VP refused to challenge the election, claiming he had no authority to do so.
Congress voted to certify the election. Only 145 out of 519 (28%) objected to the certification.
He has used every legal avenue to try and get the result he wanted, and every single legal avenue was shut down. Why, then, do some people insist that he stay in office?
Because they’re white supremacists?
Yes.
However, when you’re severely outnumbered, sometimes you have to take a more subtle approach. Even people who claim to support police in general become dangerous in a mob situation - as exemplified by the officer who died from his injuries. I heard that he was struck with a fire extinguisher, which resulted in head trauma of some sort - that tidbit came through the grapevine though, so its veracity is TBD.
Another terrorist arrested in Des Moines.
