Still very relevant.

As long as laws favor spouses over partners.

#FYI

Does anyone else think that the spike in popularity of the “step sister” pron genre is directly due to the incestual themes in Game of Thrones? Please discuss. Tanks.

Why do people that don’t want to have kids even get married? It is even more puzzling because singlemommery is becoming the norm. In the future only asians will be getting married because they seem to be the only ones that understand the evilness of singlemormmery

Well, here in the US, the gays wanted the inheritance benefits, so that’s an important thing.

Igor, how do the Russian mail brides work?

As a community we need to start adding “excl. S2000” to all relationship thread titles. I for one am tired of hearing about his fairytale life. /s

Do you want to have kids?

Its important and desirable to have a partner whos got your back and who you can plan out a future with. Maybe its not “relevant” to a lot of people, especially young people, but if you want to get ahead in life, I consider it very important (for most people).

I’m not quite sure what you mean by my fairytale life.

Mine’s as much a struggle as everyone else’s.

A friend’s dad kind of did this. It’s a really sad story. He was/is on disability and his wife left him a while back so he’s really lonely. He told my buddy he was going to try some online dating sites, but didn’t say which ones and my friend didn’t really think to ask. Long story short, he basically wound up in a “relationship” with a Russian woman (maybe she was Ukrainian…whatever). After some emails back and forth she had him hook, line, and sinker. That’s when the scam started. She wanted to come to the US but not without her family. She needed money to get them over here. All that sort of thing.

It’s interesting because it wasn’t a catfish-type scenario. He eventually met her (he went to Europe to visit her and her family). But she was definitely working for an agency that required a big chunk of change to free her from her obligations. My buddy tried to stop his dad from forking any money over but he did and it actually worked. She was able to get out of her contract with her agency and even came to the US for a little while. As soon as he had given her enough money to get her family setup back home (they were no longer planning on coming to America), she ditched him and never returned any of his calls or emails. With travel expenses and cash gifts he spent about $80k on her. He knew it wasn’t real love, but thought she had some feelings for him. He didn’t even mind losing the money as much as he was just heartbroken.
