SIngle purchases (not including vacations) without financing:
Mostly gifts for other people. Dropped $1500 on a stove for my parents when theirs died. Bunch of 1k-2k handbags for various women in my life (gf/sisters/mom). I remember two dinners with the gf that were north of $1000 for the two of us but both those were special occasions.
Other than a box of cuban cigars every 3-4 months for ~400 bucks, and a monthly bottle of Macallan, my only personal indulgence is Jets season tickets that run 4k a year.
The Post ran a story a yesterday about a guy who had Giants tickets. He had four of them. He left them on his dashboard while he went into a restaurant. By the time he got out, somebody had busted his dashboard and left two more.
I’m dealing with wedding stuff now. Seems ridiculously expensive…like, everything is just mad overpriced. Every photographer I talk to wants like $3k and the ones who are cheaper really have sh!tty pictures, ugh. I used to think that $40k was a really extravagant wedding, but looking over my budget with estimates it is pretty easy to see how it gets so expensive so quickly. I mean, food can easily be $15k, alone. I’m a cheap SoB, so this is killing me.
I’m going to Vegas over Thanksgiving, maybe we’ll just git 'er done there on the cheap.
I am not surprised…wedding receptions in Japan are VERY expensive. Not to mention photography, gifts, professional MC and entertainment, FLORAL, dress/suit/accessories… before you go on honey moon you would have spent a year of your salary.
